well, *I* heard that this d00d (chick actually) just bought it and was driving off the lot when OUT OF NOWHERE this big cement truck came hauling ass (and cement too so the inertia was huge) but the driver was this really old broad with cataracts and BO so she sees this new TL and is like "I'll show him a thing or two" (not realising that it was actually a chick) and pulls a pop-a-wheelie then slams into the TL and the old broad didn't even care. but then there was construction on the subway (which was just down the street) and the cement/ass truck and TL had so much momentum that they couldn't even stop if they wanted to and they BOTH fell into the subway and then the train came and everyone was like "HOLY SH|T!!!!". that's all I saw.

What want the motor? The new TL uses the Type-S motor with a cold air intake (giving it 270 hp).

you cant really say that. The gearing is different and the car makes more horse power and torque throughout the power band than the type s.

I read on several other sites that people have noticed the same series engine as the Type S .. the CAI will add horsepower .. true, the gearing can be different, but that is a function of the tranny and final drive and tires ..

i saw 5 tl's last week when i went in for my service bulletin repair on the timing belt. and on all the model's i saw no brembo brakes.

someone else said they are only on the 6speeders, that may be true cuz all the ones i saw were AT, so let's hope that they are four wheel brembo's if so that'll solve the question i had in another thread on here about how we can possibly get a four wheel brembo kit, now just gotta see if these are compatible.

I'd want the tranny as long as I can use my shifter/gate. :P

Bremos are supposedly on the performance package only. So, yes, that implies 6-speed 18" wheels etc.

Here's what the acura website says about the manual Tranny TL brakes:

Manual: Brembo ventilated, 12.2 in. (310 mm) diameter, 0.98 in. (25 mm) rotor thickness

So guys, hate to burst your bubble, they are only vented discs, no brembo calipers (as far as i can see) and they are NOT crossdrilled.

Anyone that's seen a 6speeder with brembo calipers on the 04 TL please prove me wrong.

oh and by the way, the rear brakes are standard brakes (not brembos) on both the AT and MT.

Hate to burst your bubble: Had a 6speed at the ride and drive that I went to. 18" wheels with yokohamas. Brembo calipers and drilled rotors. Not released to the public yet. But, forget the website, go to the dealer and pick up a brochure. And if you don't believe me, just wait. You'll see when they are released.

REMEMBER ???????????????? DAH .!!!!! Don't buy into it ! Wait 6-9 months and see what they are selling for..........

Brembos only on 6-speed. Test drove an auto yesterday. The drive by wire is sorta slow to respond unless you punch it. Car felt heavier and steering was heavy also. The new and improved brakes on it does stop the car much better than the cl-s. I imagine that the 6-speed brembos will do even better.
As to the engine being the same, well yes and no. They've intergated the exhaust manifold, so headers will be out of the question, at least unless a cutting torch and a welding rod is included in the plans on installing one. The stock sound system is much nicer than the previous one. 5-channels with a small sub intergated in the rear shelf. Memory feature now includes air condition/heater settings. They finally moved the sunroof controls to the top. Both mirrors now will tilt when in reverse, however you have to select which one. Both will not tilt at the same time.

A much quieter car now as they've again went with thicker glass. The dealer says that the first Production 6-speed is scheduled to roll off the assembly line around the 5th of November with deliveries to the dealers in mid-November. I told them to call me when it arrives. The dealer said that Acura once again went with another new auto-tranny. We all know what fun their last new tranny provided. Still has the same intercooler. no radiator cooling. So this time I'm only looking at the 6-speed.
I'll let ya know after i drive it how it performs.

Correction 5 channels of audio plus the sub

thats what 5.1 means

Center
Front R&L
Rear R&L
Sub

6 would mean there is a rear center channel too.
