Dont they come on them? I think they are nasty looking. Really ruins the lines of the car..

Year, but at 46k, makes it a bit steep.

Those are stock and they do look weird. The new S4 is a hot car though.

I like the older S4 with the the TT V6, I'm not impressed with shoehorning a V8 into a smaller car

well, I think that's to knock off the extra shit off your shooes, so you don't bring in more dirt into the car, but anyway, that car has a V8 and isn't even puting out more torque than HP, and 5.2 to 60mph? what's up with that? there are cars with 6 bangers and turbo 4's puting those numbers to shame. oh well maybe tghere is something else being cooked up in the future like the RS4.

No, the M3 pretty much outperforms the S4 is most categories.

Wouldn't buy an S4 this year though, they are having lots of problems.

There was already a guy on Audiworld who lemon lawed his 800 mile S4 and bought an M3.

Well they arent stock on the A4, only on the S4. But the A4 owners are buying those "blades" and installing them on their cars. Its like the cool thing to do... i think its :ghey:

How is Audi reliability? Has your Audi give you any trouble yet? I was seriously thinking about A4, but the reliability myth got me off to an Acura CLS. I am now thinking about S4, ///M3, or ///M4 for my next car.

To be honest, Audi doesnt seem to be that reliable compared to bmw. I visit both forums daily and notice that the audi guys have more issues.

But my car has been rock soild so far, once something major happens then i will for sure post it on acl.com

My bmw was mint for 17k miles, not one trip to the dealer.
If i picked based on what i have read from owners.. then i would buy the M3. Plus i find RWD more fun than AWD.

I agree. I saw the Convertible S4 at the car show and it looked very bland compared to the hardtop version.

S4 is hard. I love V-8s and in a smaller car is great. Just what I like.

As we were talking about the convertible S4, here are a few pics I took at the Detroit auto show. As you can see, it's definitely pretty boring compared to the hardtop:

VWaG is known to supress their numbers quite a bit. The reason, I don't know. Don't be shocked if this car is much much faster, my butt dyno said so...

I had a chance to drive one in Washington when I was stationed there. It is pure adrenalin when driving the car, the V8 feel and sound of this car is definitely not something you expect from a Euro car.

As for Audi quality, yea, VAG needs to work on quality issues (rattles, CELs, minor annoyances).

just got a '01 S4 Avant. like the older B5 platforms. cant beat a turbo. also, there is a big difference between a M3 and a S4. AWD. doesnt matter how much power you have if you cant get any traction...

also as bkknight said, the older S4's are prolly 20k less too. you can smoke any M3 with half that in mods...

I got to drive one of these tonight at work. It was great, i do miss the sound of the turbo's from the older model but this one hauls a lot of ASS.

If I only had money.

$46k for it? I say a good deal. I don't judge a car by its 0-60mph time. By the way, 5.2 second is fast enough for me. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't differentiate from other A4 enough.

yes and no...the recaros inside definitely set it apart...but yead I'd say it's a more suble difference from an A4 than the M3 is from a 3 series. The car appears to be fast, but I have a friend who raced one is a 1.8T like mine (bigger turbo, but not a hige one) nd he said he pulled on the guy. Maybe because the S4 was new and not broken in yet. But still, the S got the jump and he said he was by him by the end of 3rd gear. I guess the thrill of this car is it's stability. It's got decent power, but weighs a lot. I'm drawn more to the volvo S60R and V70R, or the legacy 2.5RS or legacy turbo if it comes out. Better deals imo. It's a shame BMW charges so much for an M3....that's what lets Audi do the same with the S4. The last gen A4's and S4's were a decent deal.
