My buddy has a Boxster S, not for me.

Definitely an M3 over a Boxster. A Boxster is nice, but it's no 911.

hmmm welp, until they put something more powerful in the boxster i'd have to go with the m3.

HOWEVER, from a pure racing standpoint i'd take the boxster. You just can't beat the mid-engine RWD layout!

M3 for sure... like i was told become with the new C-coupe benz... a boxster S or not is like a econ porsche for those who can't buy the carreras...this is like the new c-coupe and those bmw ti hatchbacks.....

 

Whoa....I thought Boxter S was a pretty favourite car...I guess not..
Well..my brother was convincing me to look into that too when i am buying a $55-$60K car..
I guess M3 still stands.!!

I disagree with the Boxster comment.

Whoever says Boxsters are gay or are girls' cars probably has never driven one. It might not be a 911, but a Boxster S comes pretty damn close to a 911's performance numbers.

Jeez how could anyone ask this question? The Boxter is so bleh and wimpy looking. The M3 is sex on wheels, especially those 19" wheels.

personally...i would take the Porsche Boxster S over the BMW M3...i drove the M3 before and i was impressed with the power...but the ride quality of that car sucked + its too similar to 330 which i think is overrated...beside Porsche to me is one level higher than BMW brand wise.

 

Sure, if your brand conscious you can walk around and say you own a Porsche. My friend does that, he has an 86' POS in white that looks like shit. IMO, the Boxter and Boxter S is Porsche's way of getting into the under 60K market. To me a Porsche has always been the Carerra line. The boxter S has nothing on the M3 two different cars.

 

actually they had a comparison test on the boxter s and m3...even tho the m3 won in braking and acceleration...THE S beat it in HANDLING..
now what do u guys have to say to that?

the M3 is a coupe / rocket / best of both worlds

the Boxter is a roadster, that's it, not half as versatile.

I would hope it won in the handling dept.

Porsche should rethink calling the Boxter S as one of porsche's cars. I drove one and I didnt like it at all. It just lacks power for a 50K car and no way i would compare it with a Carrera or E46M3. The fastest part in the boxter S is the first 60mph, after that it just aint that fast. But if we compare the boxter S with the S2000, i would take the Boxter S without thinking because it will beat the S2000 in all fields.

Oh and my answer for the question will be M3 all the way unless u have the Z06 as one of your choices, then i would say Z06 all the way.
