aheaehaehaeh didn't hear him talking shit towards the end. NOW....from a stoplight...i think it's a different story. Highway speeds I would imagine the lightening isn't so hot because of the aero.

the lightning sounds sweet with the supercharger but I'd take an M3 any day. I really don't understand the fascination with wanting to get a fast pick up truck. If you are in the market for a fast Ford, why not get a cobra?

They are just very cool and handle surprisingly well, I've always had a liking to fast domestic pickups. Guess they are just for people who want a fast vehicle but find having the bed space handy (or a requirement).

You have a good point about the Cobra, waiting to see what brings with the new Cobra (06?).

 

At least the "dude" knows that the BMW can out turn their truck... "dude"..

My new neighbor, who is an editor for Drive Time (location car publication), he gets a new car every week to test drive. (envy)

Anyway, he had the honer of going out to PIR and did an exclusive comparsion between the new SRT-10 vs Ford Lighting. His impression was:

The lighting was very, very fast, but when he drove the SRT10, he realized home much faster off the line the Dodge was. There's just no replacement for displacement.

 

The new Lightning isn't out yet, the current dated version is rated at 380hp. Stock vs. Stock, obviously the SRT is going to be the faster vehicle (regardless of displacement).

 

cool new feature on the new lightning will be a Super Cooler .. from what I understand, a tank stores 32 degree dry air cooled by the air conditioning system, and with the push of a button that air can be dumped into the intake for a 50HP boost .. then charged back up within 2 minutes. kinda like an unlimited use 50 shot?

i actually was thinking the lightning was modded and was gonna walk him, but they do hit the aerodynamic wall @ highway speeds

i remember one getting a jump on me from a stop but then he could gain any ground when i got into 3rd then past 100 i was catching up

 

i put some m3 smacketh down on a turbo rsx yesterday.

had him by one car the entire time. at the time i didn't master the SMG yet. now that i know how to race the damn car i'd really make him look bad. m3forum helped me out!

Yeah the Super Cooler feature will be sick I hope to see it make its way into future vehicles.
