yep... it went 12 years and 3 drivers (my dad, a guy from his company, then me) without a wreck, and then she got it and less than 2 weeks later and it was totalled. it was pretty much the same as yours (green, tan interior, 4.0L) only 2wd and it was a 95... poor thing. sure, it was a piece, but i loved it as my own...

Nice pics, Beet! Looks like you guys had a pretty good time.
2 Questions....
What size tires are you running?
and...
Do you know the guy in the Cherokee? If so, do you know what kind of roof rack he's got or can you find out? It looks pretty interesting, I haven't seen one like that before.

Before...
After 2" boost as of yesterday...
It's subtle but I like it. The only problem is now I already want to go higher. I think I'll go 2" more and call it a day. Might wait till the summer or longer to do it though, we'll see.
I also removed the rear sway bar altogether for more flex.
Tomorrow I'm gonna try and wax it weather permitting. I'm gonna try and get new interior pics too since I'm got some other toys in it. You guys will get to se my newly cracked windshield. Thanks Colorado.
Right now I'm trying to decide weather or not I want to remove the valance (sp?) off the bottom of the front bumper & trim the bottom of the end-caps to match, or remove the end-caps altogether. Or, leave it alone. I already scraped it once and broke a clip on the first trail run.
EDIT: BEET, did you ever find out about that guy's roof rack?

Drifting
Got me a little bit of lift
Rubicon Express 4.5 Long Arm and 35" Goodyear Wranger MTR's
The difference in ride and handling now, both on and off road, is amazing.

Thanks. I had it out over the weekend and it's worlds above where it was before.
Your rig is comming along very nicely. I'd look for some used Rubi wheels with good tires. That is a great looking setup on an XJ. Keep up the nice work.

Thank Joe. I looked into the Rubi wheels before but I decided to stick with 15" instead and I really liked the Ravines. I put on the Ravines a week or two after I got it. You're right though, Moab's look great on an XJ. I saw one the other day and I was kinda jealous, haha.

I moved my Navi last weekend after having to buy a scraper to get the suction cup off the winshield...
To any of you guys that have this similar dash in your TJ's and what not, I highly recommend this location. It sets it down a little lower rather than right-smack-dab in the middle of the window. I also find it's easier to reach here. If I want my passengers help on entering info, I can just pop it right off the cradle and it works under it's own battery power.

Greenhelment, love your truck- dude and good call on the 6cyc auto- light to moderate off-road would never require you to need a 5 speed. Plus when all you have to do is turn the wheel and stomp the accelerator in four high in some swampy stuff to do some axis spins like the Lambo in the Big Tymers video o so long ago you'll be glad you got it.
I have to many stories about my Jeep- Just whatever you do don't flip it- even though you can get a few of your buddies to flip it back over, start it up and be back on your marry way. It will crush you!

I actually never plan to spend much time in the mud. I'm in the Rocky mountains so more rocks than anything else. Mot to mention, mud breaks things.
When I was looking for a Jeep I considered a WJ but decided that I wouldn't be as happy with it as I would the XJ in the long run. Reasons being... I wanted the NP231 transfer case, 4.0L (although I knew I could find this is a WJ), I've always loved the old boxy, body style, and not to mention it was cheaper. I knew I would beat the snot out of it and I didn't want to over spend on something that I would eventually beat up on.
Don't worry, I don't plan to put it on it's side or roof. But if I do, I'm hackin' the roof off and tubing it up!
And this, I DEFINITELY don't plan to do...
