$1400 to repaint front bumper
My front bumper had a few road rashes from the winter, so I brought it to the local 'Acura-Referred' bodyshop and they quoted me $1400+ and 5+ days of work to remove bumper, sand down, removed front plate holes, repaint, and reinstall.
I think I could buy a new OEM bumper from Acura for 1/3 of that.
Crazy.

What kind of road rashes would determine how much work is required to repaint the bumper, or maybe the bumper is a major pain to remove to paint but if it is just paint chip repair and a repaint (filling the holes shouldn't require much) $600-800 would be more realistic.

I just brought my TSX in as well for some scratch repair, and was quoted $477 for the repaint. Well, I knew about a crack on the bottom anyway, so I decided to just get a new bumper and ended up also having to replace the shields underneath too, that were ripped. Ended up costing $954 for the new bumper and everything, so yeah, $1400 is very high for just a repaint. Would have been $763 for just a new OEM repainted bumper without the shields.

we got it painted for 200 dollars. dropped it off one day and picked it up the next day before they closed.
and most of the paint shops i went to quoted anywhere from 220-300.. i dont think i was ever quoted more than 300 just to paint a front bumper cover.

A 2003 TL-S bumper from www.oemacuraparts.com is $204.80, probably unpainted, but that's still way less than $1400. I'd go to another shop if I were you. They are ripping you off.
