I don't know how many forum members are from Morton Grove area in IL, but if anyone has the license plates from McGrath Acura Morton Grove, please let me know.

At every dealer I've worked for, we'd give you as many as you wanted to put on your cars for free. Cheap advertising (they cost about $3 for each normal frame and $5 for metal ones).

Nah.. they won't.. I mean they will probably if I bought my tl from there, but the thing is I bought my tl from a different location not Morton Grove. Morton grove location is very close to my home and they provide free car wash to customers who bought cars from their location only. At the car wash entrance, they check if the license plate frame says morton grove Mcgrath Acura' to veryfy the car was from there.

I usually park my car there overnight so just go to usde car section and pick one up for free. But there are few things you need to know:
1. Bring screwdriver
2. be quite and dont attract any attention
3. Its best to do at night or when there closed
If you cant find my car its the Acura with a McGrath Acura license plate frame

it may only cost a few dollars to get a plain black frame and put the McGrath decal on it. Not sure what it looks like but it would be the 2nd cheapest way (1st listed above). Did you ask for one or just assume that they wont give you one?

I thought I could get a car wash there since I bought my car from McGrath Acura but in Westmont location. So, my license plate frame says 'Westmont'. I pulled my car in for car wash, and this Mr. Spanish car wash man said 'No car wash for you'.

McGrath Acura is McGrath Acura. It doesn't matter which location I bought my acura from as long as I bought it from McGrath, right?

They do, but I don't want to drive 16 miles just to get a free car wash..

then i dont see the problem as why Morton Grove wont let you get it, maybe that guy didn't know talk to a supervisor or someone else.

Well.. there was a big sign saying that they provide car wash service only for customers who bought the car from their location. So, I had to pull my car back out.

Not true. I had people that started to use my dealer for service that had purchased cars from other dealers that we'd given frames to. Why would we be picky? If they want our name on their car, who were we to tell them no? I'm telling you again, just ask for one. Tell them that you want to show them off, and they'll love you for it. Hell, they'll put it on for you. I know. I have done this a hundred times.

i got my car at mcgrath in westmont and they never look at my plate. Oh wait, i dont have one on there. But i did pick one up for my buddy, but he hasnt used one yet.

its not that big of a deal. all you need is to get your hands on a plate bracket and youre golden. you can have a chevy monte carlo with a mcgrath plate bracket and still get free car washes, cause u can just tell them you bought that car there used.

The car wash system in that dealer is super wonderful.
The one at Westmont is far from me and also, their car wash system is cheap.

I bet they will ask for my name to look up if I got the car from them if I ask for license plate frame.

yo Akinaboy where did u buy ur acura from? i have McGrath plates and id like to exchange them for Woodfield Acura which i believe is Mueller's... I bought mine from McGrath Westmont... let me kno

I no longer work there, but yes, they provide free washes. No, they will not look anything up. Actually, you can't just look up someone's name to find out where they purchased the car. Only the VIN can help source a car's origin of initial purchase through the HIN (Honda Interactive Network). Your name and records are not on a networked site for dealers to access (technically, that would be a violation of the Bailey Act, which is a felony offense), so there is no way they could link your name to another dealer. Dealers could actually care less. It's a waste of time.

Ditto. I spent 7 hours detailing my car, made sure there weren't any swirl marks. Then my CEL came on. I took it to the dealer and they fixed the problem. They also washed my car. I then took it home and swirls were EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

all this trouble just to get a liscence plate frame. Thing is I bought my tsx from morton grove Mcgrath and have no need for it b/c I'm in VA right now.
BUT...I also don't think it would be worth the hassle for me to ship it over to you b/c I mean how much could i possibly sell it for?

If you lived in Chicago area, you know how horrible weather is. And one day it snows and the other day it rains, then snows then sunshine.. It is chaning almost everyday and in winter, it is so hard to do car wash by myself.

I hate washing cars in winter cuz water freezes on and its just a pain. I rather pay $7 to have it hand washed and dryed.

I don't know.. I could go ask for plate frames, but those guys at Acura service all know me since I took my tl there for many service and they know that I got my car from westmont else.

He said just come in and get one at no charge. I told him that my old one cracked when I was replacing my license plate frames. If he asks if you bought the car from there just say no, but you bought it from a private owner who had bought it from there. I highly doubt they will ask that though.
