I in no way, shape or form knowingly sold a replicated product, as I researched to the best if my abilities in these, as they were a gift and not purchased by me personally, which I fully stated in the ad. It was a local sale, buyer inspected lugnuts, keys, packaging, etc, and was satisfied with the product fully. My feedback on this forum has been perfect for years....so DO NOT assume I rip people off please.

I am sure you didn't knowingly post replicas, but it is possible. They were sold in this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/volk-formula-lugs-new-packaging-chrome-black-894061/.

Since I know very little about these parts, I merged the two threads posted by the OP together, and will ask the experts to please post with their opinions on these lug nuts.

Since the lugs were sold locally it is likely the buyer is not a member here and would never see this warning, but we need to wait until a final determination is made about the authenticity of the lug nuts before making any assumptions.

Because they were a gift to me....I didn't pay for them, so any money made off of them, were going towards a new set of kics project R40 lugs with my correct thread pitch

It is the buyers responsibility to research and know what they are buying and what to look for with knock-offs. You have to be aware of this if you are buying name brand parts from anyone other than an authorized dealer.

If the price is too good to be true then you should know something is up.

Does that also mean if the price is too good to be true then the seller should know something is up?

I wish I knew who the buyer was. Too bad he's not on this forum. Or is he?

As the OP mentioned the real lugs have red lettering while the fakes have black lettering. Proof, Mackin Industries (a authorized Volk dealer) has them posted with red lettering:
http://www.mackin-ind.com/portfolio/formula-lug-nut/

I have three sets of Rays Extended lug nuts and two of them are fake, I knew the second set I purchased was fake because of the original price (under $70, when they retail for around $225). I thought the third set I bought was legit but after looking at them closer (just a few days ago) they are indeed fake too and its too late to open a case on Paypal. The box is identical (only difference is the font/image on the paper is somewhat blurry as it was been scanned and reprinted). The lug key is very similar to the original but is slightly off as it does not work with my real lug nuts. The original lugs have three sets of numbers on them (one for the lug key as there are three different types, another for the thread pitch and one I have yet to determine). My advise: be careful when buying any high end aftermarket products, especially volk/rays. Places you can buy real volk/rays without any issues:
Mackin Industries (a Distributor, not a direct dealer)
Evasive motorsports
Tuneshop (on eBay):
http://stores.ebay.com/TUNESHOP

I'm sure there are others too, those are just the few I have done business with.

It is the seller's job to disclose whether the item being sold is authentic or not. Most buyer's assume all items are the real deal unless specified.

Again..as I stated clearly earlier, these lugs were no good to me, and they were received as a gift for my birthday, as they did not fit my car. So I wanted to move them to fund my kics project r40 lugnuts that would fit my car.

I wasn't looking to make a killing off of these lugs, as they did not cost me a dime, they were a gift. One that I did not want to inform the person that got them for me, that they were the wrong pitch for my lugs, thus useless to me, so I got rid of them on my own, without hurting the gifters feelings.

Thank you so much for saying that....because as much as I searched, I couldn't tell either. As well as the buyer couldn't either.

I'm sorry but I fail to see the point in this thread? Couldn't you just have PM'd the original seller? They may or may not have been fake. It's too late now. But this isn't the first time authenticity of a real item has come in question. This thread it utterly useless especially since/if the buyer isn't even on here.

Just my $0.02 though.

uhh if you wanna buy replicas that's you, but I'm sure that others do not want to buy anything that is fake when not disclosed.

Your statement makes no sense whatsoever. You don't know if I want to buy replica's or not, but you're sure that other don't? So you know what everyone else wants to buy, but not me? LOL

Even though it's up to the seller to describe the product(s), the buyer is just as responsible, if not, more responsible to ask those questions. Especially if the buyer inspected it, in person. So again, I fail to the point of this thread.

If you're going to make a thread about lugnuts, why not make ones about all the replica wheels? Rota, Drags, Miro, XXRs, etc?

757accord......Hey bro, thanks for the input and contribution. This guy has been blowing my phone up all day morning with harrassing texts, contacting MODS, creating multiple threads, etc etc etc because of a simple mistake of authenticity.

The proper thing would have been to contact myself personally via PM, or atleast have a MOD contact me personally, instead of trying to constantly say I knowingly sold a non-suthentic product. Again, buyer inspected OUT OF THE PACKAGE, and was completely satisfied with the purchase. Honestly, im over the BS today with this asshat.

We have not reached any positive conclusions here, and TOPHER33884 seems to think he did the right thing, or at least didn't do anything wrong, and he's entitled to his opinion so let's leave it at that and I'm closing the thread.
