I bought this used Unichip from a member "death" here on Sept 08. Use since then with no issue whatsoever. No cell code, pass CA smog check, no issue with dealer. There is little chipped on one of the connector when I bought it but everything still works. Since time for me to move on to Supercharged project, so I won't be need it anymore. Selling for $150 + shipping. Local pickup is preferred.

Here is the description and current pics of Unichip:

Tuned for: Intake, Headers, Cat-Back Exhaust
Works on 2002-2003 Acura TL-S/CL-S. It can be custom tuned for a TL-P/CL-P. Per installation booklet, it should work for 01-03 CL-S/TL-S.

The chip is plug and play and does not require a custom harness. Included is the original box, manual, keychain etc.

The chip comes with two different Map settings A and B.
Map A: Less Aggressive tune
Map B: More Aggressive tune (Map B has been custom tuned and does not create any CEL warnings)

Apparently Map B sometimes causes CEL warnings due to the low A/F ratio it is tuned for from the factory. This has been resolved by the custom tune. I have been running with this setup for about 9 months with no issues.

Great price on that chip. means more $ left over for a good tune.

 

I have no idea how much hp/tq increase. Butt dyno feels that car is little more responsive; however, few hp/tq gain is better than nothing since I have almost all the bolt-on mods on the car. I didn't have a chance to dyno with the Unichip on.
According to other acura forum, it could gain somewhere between 5-10hp/tq

I don't really know, but per previous owner (death) he said that it should work for both manual and automatic. The installation instruction just said for CL 3.2L type S (01-03). No specific for automatic or manual. Someone with more knowledge can chime in.

 

so that means with this I could tune my car if i bring it somewhere?

Yes, you could bring to your local tunning place to re-tune to match your specific mods if needed. I don't know how much for the Unichip custome tune, but the place I will go to tune my e-manage with supercharged charge $325 for tunning (including dyno).

It's already tune for cat-back exhaust, header, and intake mode when I got the Unichip last year from member named death. And yes, both Map A and B is tuned for our car with the above mods. Map B is little more aggressive in timming. So if you have the same mods, you don't need to do re-tune.

Update: This Unichip will NOT work for Manual CL-S. The connector hardness is different compare to my car which is automatic TL-S.

Pardon my ignorance but I could not find what this chip exactly does on their website...

Could someone please explain what it does with numbers? and why someone would want it (for some odd reason I think I want to want it!)

This chip retunes or remaps the air/fuel ratio to get the maximum performance out of your bolt on modifications (intake, header, exhaust). It does this all across the RPM band increasing your HP and your torque. There are no risks involved. Unichip retunes this ratio but still well within safe measures leaving no harmful side effects. Some cars will see better gains than others but you will see a gain of some sort.

my harness only has 2 connectors and a connector into the chip itself,,is that right?its an 01 cl-s... i dont get why the image has 3,,i installed it and the engine light and vsa came on,it stayed running but idled very low and when i flipped the toggle for the ecu power it stalled on me.....the guy at unichip said that is should not do that even if it was not mapped exactly for my cat back and cai..the kid previous had cat back,cai headers and lightweight pullys
