SOLD - For Sale: Blue 2003 CL-S 6-Speed NAV w/low miles & AcuraCare warranty

I’m sure anyone who’s been here for a while knows my car, but for those that don’t here it is:

2003 Acura CL Type S w/ NAV
Blue w/ Ebony interior
Rare 6-Speed manual transmission
See my signature below for full details
Mileage = 33,XXX

The car was purchased NEW in March of 2002 and has never been in an accident.
Careful parking has left the car with zero dings.
Wheels are perfect with no curb rash or face scratches.
There are of course the unavoidable stone chips on the hood and one on the door.
None are rusting as I always take care to cover and Zaino them.
There are no mechanical issues with the car.
I’m an experienced stick shift driver since 1983 and I know how to take care of a clutch.
Car has been serviced exclusively at both Lehigh Valley Acura in PA and Park Avenue Acura in NJ.
Comptech and TEIN suspension parts were installed by Park Avenue Acura.
Oil changes were done at Lehigh Valley Acura following the suggested intervals.
15,000 and 30,000 mile services were also performed there.
New cabin filters were installed with the 30,000 service in the summer of 2005.
NAV DVD is the latest version as of early 2005. Version 2.20

I have all the stock parts for the car including the suspension, exhaust manifolds, air intake box, chrome emblems.
All will go with the car if you want them.
I don’t have the original 17” rims/tires but I’ll deliver the car on the winter wheels/tires if you don’t want the 18” Chrome wheels/tires.
They are 16” OEM rims from a 2000 TL.

The AcuraCare warranty adds a great value to this car.
It will provide you with trouble free driving for the next 3 1/2 years.
Not something you’re likely to find on most used cars.
To purchase a similar OEM plan right now will cost you well over a thousand dollars.

Here are some numbers for a stock CL-S that matches mine:
Kelly Blue Book:
Private party value: 21,800 (Dealer Retail = 25,080) (Trade = 18,775)

Edmunds:
Private Party = 19,800 (Dealer Retail = 23,885) (Trade = 18,600)

I have about 6,000 dollars of modifications done to the car and I’m not realistically expecting to get that much for them.
I’d conservatively estimate their value addition to the car to be around 2-3 thousand right now.

The car also carries a 7-Year / 75,000 Mile Honda/AcuraCare ZERO DEDUCTIBLE extended warranty.
This is fully transferable to the new owner and it’s good through March of 2009.

I feel the value of the car as it sits with all modifications is 24,000 dollars.
I’d prefer to keep it complete, but I’m willing to negotiate downward if some of the mods are removed.
Comptech Headers -500
TEIN coilover suspension -400
18” Rims/Tires -800
Subwoofer system w/ AMP -300

Feel free to discuss, but no LOW-BALL offers please.
I don’t “need” to sell the car and if I don’t get a good offer I’ll just keep it as originally planned.
Car is free and clear of debt and title is in hand for an easy transaction.

Here are a few pictures. The car always turns heads on the street.
There is no extra charge for the 100+ coats of ZAINO.
V1 not included.

Feel free to ask questions either via this thread or PM.

Thanks…… Shawn S

The headers I have will fit an AUTO or a 6-Speed, but they’re more valuable to a 6-speeder because they’re the only ones that fit that car.

Comptech Headers -500
TEIN coilover suspension -400
18” Rims/Tires -800
Subwoofer system w/ AMP -300

A note to those people posting and sending PM’s and offers for the Headers, TEIN’s and such.
The prices I posted are money that I would SUBTRACT from the total if the buyer doesn’t want them….NOT what I will be selling them for separately.
There’s a little bit of leeway in those numbers to allow for the cost and/or time to remove them.
The headers, wheels and audio equipment I can remove myself, but the coilovers will need to be swapped out at a garage. I don’t have all the tools/knowledge for that.
I’m not sure if that’s worth the extra cost yet.

I’ll keep all the names for if/when that day comes, but otherwise those parts aren’t for sale just yet.
If I keep the car, I’ll be keeping those parts on it.
I’ll only rip those parts off if I find a serious buyer who wants the car without them.

Thanks for the offers though.

And an addition to the sale:
If a member here finds a friend/relative to buy the car I’ll give a 200 dollar finders fee to the member after the sale is completed.

Sorry nothing new, but here’s an old one from before I swapped out the shifter.
It’s very well kept and looks pretty much the same now.
The seats are treated with Zaino leather cleaner/conditioner several times a year.

I’ll certainly take new ones for you if you’re interested in the car.

I’m a NON-SMOKER by the way. The car has never been molested by smoke.

I’m getting lots of PM’s from people looking for PARTS and others saying they’d be interested if the car DIDN’T have the mods on it.
If you’re looking for this car less certain items, let me know specifically what you want.
If I find buyers for some of the parts I’ll lower the price by selling those items separately.

I may put the car on EBAY this weekend with a high starting bid or reserve just to test the waters, but I’d like to make sure everyone here gets a chance to see it first.

Damn Shawn I want this car but just can't do it now. I feel like I'm missing a golden opportunity which makes it all the worse. Good luck testing the waters on ebay. You should post links to the site that show how well you took care of the car over the years on ebay so others can see how fanatical you are over the Blue Blinger. I gotta look at it this way--either I buy this car or I put 24K more down on a townhouse I'm trying to buy. I gotta go w/ the latter but man it is a tough decision.

Pain in the ass.. isn't it? Had my car posted, specifically said I would NOT be parting it out for about 2 months after I listed it as is.... every PM and email I got was asking about parts.

Oh well, good luck with the sale.. your cars have always been top notch and very well cared for... so whoever gets this is a lucky person.

So here's a free bump for ya

OK…Everybody loves the car.
Now somebody pony up the CASH.

It’s going on EBAY Saturday.

I’m also working on an interesting 3-way trade deal.
If EBAY doesn’t pan out, the car gets stripped of the mods and you will see them posted here.

I have a list of everyone who has inquired and who’s at the top of the list for parts.
I’m saving all PM’s and E-Mails.

Once I post it, I’ll give the car a week on EBAY and also keep looking for a local buyer.
Then I’ll start looking at individual part sales.
I will require at least a partial deposit before I start removing stuff.

Thank you for your interest.

One question that has come up in a few PM’s is the condition of the TIRES.

Since I forgot to elaborate in my original post:

The tires on the car are 235/40/18 Toyo Proxes 4 brand.
They were installed on the car in April of 2004.
I’d have to check my log book, but I believe they only have about 10,000 miles on them since they aren’t run in the winter.
They are rotated every 3,000 miles so the wear is consistent front to back.
There’s still more then 50% tread left so I believe they should be good for another 10-15,000 miles.

The car is on EBAY now.
We’re not allowed to post links here, but I’m sure you can find it if you search.

Anyone looking for parts will have to wait a week and see if I get a buyer.

Maybe these will spark some interest.

If I find a buyer, I’ll cancel the EBAY listing.

Dang... I want this car so bad. Do you have the stock wheels still? I will see if I can get a loan for it. You've driven it in the winter right? Is there any under-body rust from the salt?

My best friend is seriously interested in the car and its right in his price range but he needes the warrenty. Heres the problem...we went to the Acura dealership and they told us that if the car has headers then the warrenty is voided and its the same as if it had no warrenty. Is this true? Do headers void the warrenty?

Headers do not void the warranty.
Some dealers will say they do, but most will not.
They would have to prove that the headers CAUSED the failure.

If your friend is really interested and that concerns him, the Headers can be removed before the sale.
I have all the stock exhaust parts sitting in my basement.

I have plenty of people jumping at the bit to buy the headers from me.

23,000 without the headers and 200-dollar finders fee paid to YOU.
