I have for sale 1 Acura RDX Switchblade, "laser cut"/sidewinder key. I purchased the key from my local Acura dealer 4 weeks ago with the hopes of programing it for my 2006 Civic. Turns out that the Immobilizer systems on the RDX and Civic are not the same or compatible so I now have a very pretty Acura Paperweight. The key has never been programed or cut, and is in brand new condition with one exception, I took it apart a couple times and had to drill out one screw to check the immobilizer transponder (see pictures), this screw is not vital to the keys functionality, as there are 2 other screws still holding everything together which I also put fresh thread-lock on. I paid $75 for this key 4 weeks ago and am willing to let it go for $55 shipped to anywhere in the continental US.





The screw that was drilled out is the top silver speck on the key, only drilled so the head came off, the rest of the screw is still in there holding things in line.

I know that RSX guys have been buying them and doing all sorts of bondo work to cut out the sidewinder blank and put in the standard key, transplanting transponder chips and programing the remote. It may work on 03-07 accords, I know for sure it will not work on 06 and up Civics. I can post up FCC Id numbers once i get back to my apartment

It will NOT work on TL's or TSX's, friendly warning. So assuming that, I don't think it will work on a newer Accord. The transmitter in this keys is made by a different company

Ok, seeing as the key will not work on TL or TSXs I am removing the transmitter from the key. I will sell the spring loaded key blank and the top cover for $40 shipped, unless someone is interested in the transmitter portion, I plan on not selling it now.

Since calitsx had already offered this price id like to give him dibs if he is still interested, i tried sending a PM but his PM box was full.

to make this work with your cars you would need a 07 TL-S transmitter, i do not know it a regular 07 TL transmitter would work. It would have Driver memory and a trunk pop, there is a pre marked area you could drill out on the RDX cover so that you could reuse that. And transplanting the transponder chip from your valet key would allow you to not have to go to the dealer for any programing. Then it would be a matter of cutting out the sidewinder blank and using some sort of epoxy to attach your key inside if your car is not equipped with sidewinder keys.

the remote portion, unless someone wants it. It wont work with anything other than RDXs apparently. Im trying to get rid of this key since it doesnt work at all for my car

if youre planing on doing the key mod, you would need to get the TL-s remote transmitter and ordering the whole TL-s memory 1 key off the Honda E-store is cheaper which i recently found out. Im willing to sell i just want to make sure you know that
