Exclamation SOLD! FS: 2007/2008 Acura TL Type S Catalytic Converters - Higher Flowing Cats

The base 3rd gen TL 04 05 06 07 08 comes with 2 pre cats and 1 3rd cat, they restrict the performance of the car as most of you already know

Stock TL Catalytic Converters are 1200 Cell
TL Type S Catalytic Converters are 600 Cell

So do the math - 50% less restriction

Upgraded to procats

Want to experiment on your cats ie. gut all 3 of them and yet have some for backup well it is simple by mine which are out of a 2007 Acura TL Type S with 6000 miles on the odo...

Willing to ship anywhere just pm me your zip code

Asking Price $575 + shipping 3% paypal fee already calculated
Dealer Price for all 3 ~$900 not including the heatshields

PS. I sell everything I don't have space to keep

The original cats are 900 cell not 1200.
Plus total flow improvement is 14% not a 50% reduction like you make it out to seem. Just posting up the facts. These will help out guys, just correcting some info.

HIGH-FLOW EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH CLOSE-COUPLED CATALYZERS
To reduce weight and move the engine's two primary catalytic converters as close as possible to the combustion chambers, the TL and TL Type-S exhaust manifolds are cast directly into the cylinder heads. A 900-cell per-square-inch (600-cell per-square-inch in TL Type-S) high efficiency catalytic converter mounts directly to the exhaust port of each cylinder head for extremely rapid converter light off after the engine starts. This unique mounting system has the added benefit of eliminating traditional exhaust header pipes for a significant weight savings.
To ensure optimum flow and reduce backpressure, a hydroformed 2-into-1 collector pipe carries spent exhaust gases down to a 350 cell per-square-inch secondary catalytic converter located under the passenger cabin.
After the catalytic converter, the TL Type-S exhaust flows through two underfloor mufflers and dual rear silencers to reduce backpressure.
The TL Type-S features a high-flow exhaust system with 14-percent better flow than the TL, with larger pipes through much of its length. Tuned for an aggressive sound befitting the high-performance image of the TL Type-S, the system also features exhaust tip with large quad outlets (two on each side).

to those viewing this thread in his haste Accord_V6_400m paraphrased honda news and completely distorted what this sale is about

the 3 cats and the full catback from the type s = 14% flow improvement
this sale is for 3 cats from the type s = 33.33% flow improvement
(900 vs 600)

now the authentic facts are stated

stillhere... it's not that simple...
http://autos.aol.com/article/luxury/...13171309990001

The Type-S's 11 percent stronger engine gets that way through an eight-percent boost in displacement (from 3.2 liters to 3.5 liters), thanks to a seven-millimeter longer stroke, slightly larger intake valves with increased lift and duration and 14-percent freer exhaust flow.
The relation of exhaust "flow" is not directly proportional to cell count.

Good luck on the sale.

Now that you have them sold I will ask where this number came from? The S makes 28 more horsepower than the base TL with 10% more displacement. How can the cats account for such a large % of the increase in power?

The "~" means approximately not a guesstimate. Some folks might suggest, myself included, that there is something wrong with making up a number without any support for the claim.

I would guess that someone would be lucky to get 2 or 3 horsepower from this swap.

3.2L 258hp 80.625 hp per liter
3.5L 286hp 81.714 hp per liter

The "S" motor makes more hp per liter. If this improvement was only due to a different cat (which I doubt) the gain would mathematically calculate to a 3.48 hp gain. I suspect most of the gain in hp output is due to some other changes such as fuel mapping or engine management.

As long as everyone knows that you are not basing your figures on fact, and they cannot be substantiated, go ahead and claim anything you want.

The only thing I ask is that for people like me who don't know anything about this, when you use the ~ sign (which took me forever to find on the keyboard) you should explain that the use of this sign signifies that the figures are mostly figments of your imagination and bear no relationship to actual fact.

Rebuttal is not necessary since the explanations in previous posts are sufficient.

Well... Considering I tried to buy them Sunday, but stillhere asked me to wait until the 2nd to see if Dan was interested (Dan is having cat trouble I believe), AND stillhere reached out to me today via PM and said that he hadn't heard from Dan, and to pay via paypal... I think I'm the purchaser.

I feel bad yanking these out from under Henry, we've spoken before, nice frickin guy, but he was given ample opportunity, AND stillhere held out for him.

What's that saying, "sh!t or get off the pot".

Stillhere, please let me know when they ship.
Thanks
