FOR SALE: Standalone Hondata ECU
What I have here is a standalone ECU unit for your 07+ Acura RDX.
I recently sold my car and parted out lots of aftermarket parts. I switched over to a BMW 135i![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So up for grabs is a Hondata ECU. True plug and play unit! Hondata lists for $1150.
The price I am looking for is $1100 and semi firm on it. Thank you! Will include shipping as well. So give me your offers!
Send your e-mail to tonyphung[at]me[dot]com thanks!

Don't you think ACURA would have tuned the RDX for the best performance/MPG the engine could do from the start?
I have a hard time believing adding on something like this is actually GOOD for your engine. Sure you might gain some power, but with that gain you are surly hurting something or else wouldn't Acura just have tuned the car this way?
I mean if you are getting 260hp and 280lb-ft...wouldn't have it been smart of Acura just to tweek the RDX like that in the first place if it doesn't hurt the engine?

There's always a better out there...and Hondata is probably one of the most reputable tuning companies. Especially for Honda's. Their stuff isn't cheap, and they back up what they do.
I've driven 36000km on my Hondata and it's been great. I've gotten better mileage, and have been enjoying every PSI it raised.

Bg: Hondata is a very good company.
I believe there are quite a few members on this board running a ECU that has been reflashed by Hondata.

Oh I know they are great! If I had the Money for it, and if I had the money in the bank in case of something bad that wouldn't be covered under the warranty I would get the Hondata tomorrow!
My only thing is that I would never do it simply because of warranty issues. We still don't have LONG term data on the Turbo in the RDX and with that I wouldn't want to chance adding HP and Tq to a stock RDX outside of bolt on or drop in replacements.

while they have a good track record, I would still hesitate...
true, car manufacturers do NOT push the limits because they want to be confident that their warranty costs will be low, yet they push the engine enough the people will "probably" get what they are expecting.
one of my very special customers is the head of Mercury marine racing and he said to me once that he KNOWS what it takes to pull more out of an engine and that these, comparably small companies, do not have the resources to do it right while maintaining the level of reliability that the manufacturers do........ he told me this as I was trying to talk him into reflashing the ecm in his 996 turbo...... that makes sense to me.
so he went and bought a carrerra GT.![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
even yet, if I didn't lease my RDX, and if it were built with an MT, I would buy the reflash in a heartbeat.

I agree the manufactures have much more capital to invest in R&D. The goal of the car when it rolls of the production line is to meet the the standards (performance, ergonomics, aesthetics etc) for the demographic in which they are aiming for. They design parts and components of a vehicle for the mainstream consumer. Modding, and tunablity is very low on the totem pole for most manufactures when they bring a car to the design table -- and will never be mainstream.
That being said, the RDX is great for 95% of the buyers out there. For those who are looking for a little more, or who wish to stand out from the crowd, Acurazine is here.
