For Sale: Set of Toyo Proxes T1-S 235-45/17 (used)
I have four Toyo Proxes T1-S in size 235-45/17 for sale. I had these on my CLS for two months and 3,175 miles.
I replaced them with 225-45/17 Toyos because I was experiencing a minor rubbing problem (only during full-lock turns at decent speed over irregular pavement) on the front tires (Comptech-lowered). The tires are in great shape; there is no visible damage from the rubbing whatsoever.
I paid $640 for the set new, and asking $420. I'd prefer a local buyer (Sacramento/SF Bay Area). Post here or send email to hammerman@2carlsons.net if interested.

Rolie, I think a couple people (EricL, dunno who else) rode with the 235-45/17 on the stock rims for a while. However, they were not lowered. With your Neuspeed drop, I would think you would have issues with rubbing.
Ask Dwight...maybe he ran on this setup for a while...I don't remember.

H@mmerM@n,
Hey baby, just wanted to let you know that I am going to my shop on Friday. I am getting my oil changed and asked if he could put the tire on the rim and try it on my car. He said no problem. So I will know on Friday. I told him what I was doing, and he seemed to think that they would fit no problem, but they might bulge a little. So we will see if they are gonna rub. I will let you know on Friday when I get back from the shop!!

The drop I got from the Comptech springs was exaclty as advertised: 1" in back and 1.5" in front. It's certainly not as much as you can get from Eibachs or Neuspeeds, but I think it looks perfect. And although the tire aspect ratio is 45 the section width is 225 (vs 215 stock), so the diameter is within 1.5% of stock.
There's more gap in back and very little in front, but you would never mistake it for an unlowered car in person. If you think the picture below has a lot of gap...well....uh...uhm...whatever...
