For Sale: Set of Toyo Proxes T1-S 235-45/17 (used)

I have four Toyo Proxes T1-S in size 235-45/17 for sale. I had these on my CLS for two months and 3,175 miles.

I replaced them with 225-45/17 Toyos because I was experiencing a minor rubbing problem (only during full-lock turns at decent speed over irregular pavement) on the front tires (Comptech-lowered). The tires are in great shape; there is no visible damage from the rubbing whatsoever.

I paid $640 for the set new, and asking $420. I'd prefer a local buyer (Sacramento/SF Bay Area). Post here or send email to hammerman@2carlsons.net if interested.

420 for used tires is alittle steep. plus you got almost 3200 miles out of them.

I'm interested if you dont have any CA takers. You wont have to box them up to ship or anything. just strap two and two together. Well, lemme know... thanks for your time =)

Rolie, I think a couple people (EricL, dunno who else) rode with the 235-45/17 on the stock rims for a while. However, they were not lowered. With your Neuspeed drop, I would think you would have issues with rubbing.

Ask Dwight...maybe he ran on this setup for a while...I don't remember.

Rubbing?

So you had rubbing huh? That's interesting. I thought others had the same setup (size) and no rubbing...

H@mmerm@n, Hey if we hook up on Sunday, I will take a look at the tires. We can talk price, but if all is good, I will probably snag them from you.

Good Deal

Keep Me Posted. I'm interested, but I'm Across Country, so I don't know if it would really be "cost effective" after shipping for me.

Good luck

H@mmerM@n,

Hey baby, just wanted to let you know that I am going to my shop on Friday. I am getting my oil changed and asked if he could put the tire on the rim and try it on my car. He said no problem. So I will know on Friday. I told him what I was doing, and he seemed to think that they would fit no problem, but they might bulge a little. So we will see if they are gonna rub. I will let you know on Friday when I get back from the shop!!

No offense taken.

The drop I got from the Comptech springs was exaclty as advertised: 1" in back and 1.5" in front. It's certainly not as much as you can get from Eibachs or Neuspeeds, but I think it looks perfect. And although the tire aspect ratio is 45 the section width is 225 (vs 215 stock), so the diameter is within 1.5% of stock.

There's more gap in back and very little in front, but you would never mistake it for an unlowered car in person. If you think the picture below has a lot of gap...well....uh...uhm...whatever...
