We're doing a twisty run in Sacto. tomorrow, lots of guys with digital cams will be there. I'm sure there will be lots of photos taken of my Big Brake Kit and posted by tomorrow night. Keep an eye out for a thread or go to club events and look in the Sacramento thread

Hey guys! i just got the rotora big brake kit installed. B/c I live in the area, I got to meet Loren and the gang. They're really cool and really knowledgeable. If you guys are thinking about getting them, you should! They tested the brakes out for me and told me how to break them in. Now, it's time for a supercharger...but is it worth it?

So still, none of you know if the Rotora kit will fit under the stock 03' 6-speed rim. Hard to believe.

No, it will not fit. You have to get some wheel spacers. As long as you have 17 in rims, it's ok...you just have to get wheel spacers. I have 19in rims but I had to 5mm wheel spacer but it's ok. The brakes are awesome and the price is unbelievable, hopefully they make matching rear brakes.

I called Loren at Rotora and he said that the Rotora kit for the 03' CL will fit under the stock 17" wheel and will clear everything. However, under hard lateral acceleration he said that due to minimal flex in the wheel the wheel can hit the caliper on the edge of the caliper where the words Rotora are. The solution, he said, is to use hub centering wheel spacers specifically. He says these are safe for racing or daily driving and will not cause the lugs to loosen. He stocks 20mm spacers for $175 a pair and can get 10mm and 5mm for less $$$$. That price is for just the front set and he can get them for the rears probably for the same price and he recommended doing all four wheels, not just the fronts. He said the 5mm spacers cost $65 per pair. Loren told me that the group buy for the big brake kit will end on 5/31/03. Loren also said Rotora offers a two piece rotor kit that rivals Brembo performance. This kit, he said, is available for our cars and uses the same caliper as the one piece. He gave me a price of about $2100 for the two piece rotor kit. He also stated that Rotora can custom make anything for any application for the right amount of cash. Including a rear big brake kit.

Hope this is useful,

Jim

Im gonna say RED. Either color would look good, but I think red will add a little POW to your silver!!!

It depends, do u want show, or a somewhat subbtle attitude.

Show go for red,

quite attitude blue.

I'm silver as well and thought of this situation as well, my real choice, silver, bodycolor.

There's a thread in Car Talk now by ktown378 called VolkTE 37s, there's a nice photo in there of the Red caliper with the Volk wheel. I think the Red looks great, Blue would be cool too. Good luck.
