NEX SS coilovers. (98-02AV6, 2G CL/TL)

"wth, didn't i just buy this?"

yes i did and little did i know that it'd be impossible for me to loosen the perch without the help of a shop. I don't have time to go to a shop and get this installed so I am gonna resell it.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

Fits the following cars

- Acura TL 99-03
- Acura CL 01-03
- all 6th Gen Accords (98-02); coupe / sedan, i4 / v6

- lowers the car close to 4" in the front and close to 5" in the back so you can basically slam it down to the ground
- the current setup leaves about a 1.5 - 2 finger gap that was setup for winter driving when HE removed it 2 years ago
- the springs and perch adjust independently so you can lower the car without changing the spring rate
- the suspension height and spring rate adjustable not damper adjustable
- tools included

Aprox. 19k miles of daily driving usage.

One spring in the rear needs a replacement because its broken. Replacement spring can be bought by contacting these guys ( http://www.adrwheels.com/brand.php?id=nex )

There are lots of mud/dirt caked onto the springs which do not interfere with usage of the coilovers. There was a lot on the threads but i've taken the time to clean them up as much as I could

Must be installed by a shop as I was able not to loosen the perches by force.

$300 shipped + paypal.

bought $400 + shipping from a member on here.

from previous owner.

These coilovers are stiff. They are not as stiff as the race version but I'd say they were stiffer than Tein SS at the most stiff damper and lowest height setting. They are not as stiff as the Tein race coilovers (Flex, RA, Mono, etc) but somewhere in between.

When you jam the brakes, the car will not dive down like the OEM suspension nor will raise up when accelerating. There is very little body roll when cornering. You will definitely feel all the bumps on the road and if you are driving through construction zone, you'll need to slow down.

They have to be stiff if you want to avoid scraping over speed bumps. I was riding with no finger gap all around on my Accord and I never scraped my from lip (OEM lip kit). The only time I scraped it was on snow and ice! and it was my wife who damaged the front lip not me!

I've got an NSX and the NEX coils are stiffer than the OEM NSX suspension. Now I have Bilstein and custom springs on my NSX and the NEX is only "slightly" stiffer but almost the same. I've taken a ride on Tein RA and Flex coils on the NSX and they are literally bone jarring! The NEX are not nearly as harsh but definitely stiff.

i dunno the spring rates..

and i can't compare to omni's or teins cuz i've never had them before....

but i'd say its stiffer than teins but not as stiff as the NEX SR.

Cleaned up and starting over.

And we found out that TL and CL are very close in weight but TL is a little heavier, and both are heavier than Accords, so maybe all this was worth it.

Josh, just a word of advice.. if you have a table clamp + torque wrench.. you should be able to loosen the perches yourself with a ton of pb blaster sprayed onto the perches while setting the torque wrench to about 100lbs - 120lbs.

Josh, why are you trying to loosen the spring load perches (Top perches on coils)? If your trying to adjust the height of the coils, you use the lower body perches. No need to mess around with the spring load.

If you want to loosen the perches, you should try installing them on your car so it can hold it tight, then you use of those the coilover wrenches then add a pipe to it so you can use it like a breaker bar. Have someone hold the wrench while you push on the pipe.
