anyone know if you run this chip with intake and exhuast but no headers will bad things happen?

 

Do you know approx. how much for the tune? I'm interest, but thing is, I have pretty same set up like yours plus pulleys, thermoblock spacers which might/might not need to re-tune.

 

Re-tuning the Unichip will depend on how much your local shop charges. The thermoblock spacers will only impact heat soak issues and not A/F ratios. I'm not sure if the pulleys would have a negative impact though.

 

Why not just pick up a set of XS headers?

 

I dont have exhaust, but im working on getting headers...i dont think not having exhaust would honestly make a difference would it?

 

The tune is based on the A/F ratio curve that the engine produces. Since the A/F curve is directly influenced by the intake/headers/exhaust used the performance of the tune would be directly impacted if one component wasn't balanced. This follows the practice that you need to have a balanced engine ie. your ability to pull air in must be balanced with having a free flowing exhaust.

 

They won't pass emissions inspection in RI. I'm saving for some DCs right now.
