davey73, it might be easier to put the tape on after you get it over the needles. Its sticky stuff! Its important to get the overlays stuck down well though, you don't want them to rub the needles.

TLSAnthracite, I have an 01 so I'm not sure. You'd have to compare pics of the gauges and see if the layout is the same, or ask if anyone has installed these on an 03.

indiglo

Will they fit 2002 TL Type S?

To order, send $55 through PayPal to: paypal@4-ig.com
Make sure to mention the PayPal payment is for the Acura TL reverse indiglo gauges, and also give your shipping address.

Does anyone have any pics of their gauges with the blue background, and how hard was it to cut out the vsa triangle, or is it not even worth doing?

There are still some gauges left. Ordering information and what models these gauge overlays fit are in the first post of this thread. Other members have posted their experiences with various TL models in this thread. Please read the whole thread.

muffaburn posted in this thread that he did install them on an 02 TL with no problems. So, according to this, they do fit 02 TLs. I believe the 02 TL-P and 02 TL-S have the same gauges, but you might want to double check or even ask muffaburn if he has a Type S.

Cubanmix, personally I wouldn't cut them just to be able to see the VSA light.

TL_Banzai.Jai, you should get your gauges soon. If you don't, shoot me a PM and I'll find out what is going on.

Thanks!

Hey Nate,

Still haven't seen them, hopefully you can find out what's up. I was curious to see if you know how to take off the gauge cluster. I remember that it used to be up on the FAQ or DIY part of this site, however those are gone.

I also tried your link:
"Here is how to take out and put back your gauge cluster:

http://www.acura-tl.com/faq/faq.php#8c"
and that one isn't working either, any ideas?

Thanks in Advance!

The only difference is the markings. The gauges won't change the actual redline for your TL-S.

TL_Banzai.Jai, I checked with 4IG and Brandon said he was on vacation. He said he is really sorry and will ship them out priority mail ASAP, Wednesday at the latest. :banghead: Sorry!

I don't know why Tim has the FAQ disabled, thats wierd. In the meantime, I FTPed to the site and got the relevant information. You can see them here, though they won't be here permanently.

Most likely rog2961, though I would carefully compare your stock gauges to the overlays and make sure everything aligns the same.

4IG contacted me today and said unfortunately only two could be shipped out. B. Smith and J. Rodica, you guys will get your gauges soon. They said they are really sorry but they ran out of gauges and had to have the remaining gauges shipped to them from the store where they were trying to move them. All orders should be sent out this week.

Theres a small button that you stick under the lip of the dash. Pressing it cycles through the different color modes.

I have a couple more quick questions about the installation. I've gotten everything hooked up and the gauges light up but the buttons do nearly nothing but slightly change the color from a dull green to a dull blue. The other button doing nothing to the green and brightening the blue to a glow. Does anyone know what may be causing this? My second questions is where do you get power and ground to the little black box from? I have mine hooked up the ground by the fuse box and the power 30A fuse 2nd down on the left side of the driver's side fusebox. That makes it where the gauges come on when the key is turned but i would like to make it to where the gauges come on with the lights. Any help here is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Matt

just play with the buttons more. holding one down will change it gradually from greenish to bluish and the other will dim it to only numbers lit or with the other 2 colors.

Oh and my numbers are super blurry when i set it to only numbers lit....is it just mine or has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah there is a slight blue halo around the markings. This is the only way they could make it work to switch between reverse, regular indiglo, and both. I'm surprised its bothering you guys though, it wasn't bothering me.

Matt, did you get it installed ok? Be careful with your needles! Did you get the buttons to work? Try just pressing them and also holding them down. The white wire with the red plug going into the fusebox in this picture should give you power when the lights are on...

Ok i figured out why my gauges were not lighting right. The speedometer one, the connections were severly cracked, making all the other gauges not work right when they are plugged in. So i attempted to fix it but I could not get it to work. So everything is all screwed up now, I got a messed up speedometer gauge layin in the garage, and the other two working in my car. I don't know what to do except try and order another speedometer one from you....this has been the biggest trouble...is there some way you can help me out?
Thanks Nate

My speedometer needle also popped off. What I had to do was take my car to a friend who works for honda and lift just the front tire's off the floor with a lift and plug in a computer to get a mph readout then place the needle at the correct speed.

Hey guys I'm having a hissing noise come from the gauges when they are on, is anyone else experiencing the same. Is it b/c I have it powered to the wrong fuse or is this normal.

Matt, sorry I didn't see your message earlier and that you are having trouble. I sent your message to 4IG and they are sending you a new speedo overlay. I sent them your address (I had it in a PM).

Cubanmix, the transformer makes a slight hissing sound but it should be pretty muffled under the dash.
