19x8.5 would be the correct width for the 04 TL

18x8 would be ok...

but if you go 19, you got to widen that wheel... 19 x 8.5

19x8 should be fine also. Many members are running that. The "right" size depends more on the tire size, and how much of a variation in speedometer and odometer readings you are willing to accept.

Either way, it is in the wrong forum...

edit:
Didn't realize the MOD already moved it.

well, you would have to go with a wider tire, goin to a 19... and you'd be at 245 or 255 on a 19 tire, so at the required tire pressure, wouldn't the sidewall be pushing out quite a bit on a 8" tire? (esp with a 255 tire width) thats why I say 19 x 8.5 is ideal

I knew this was going to happen soon. Remember the 2nd gen TL has a different width/offset than the 3rd gen.

19x8 +50 on a 2nd gen is perfect.

Not sure what the perfect offset is for a 3rd gen though.

my bad for the mulitple postings.

again, i think the offset is good for both 3rd and 2nd generation tl's. i guess it depends on how low your car is.

thanks for looking at the ad.
