FS: 1986 Ae86 Toyota Corolla RWD -white, 5sp, A/C, P/S- PICS!!
Believe it or not i got one. Its in Boca Raton, Fl and will consider driving it up to 100miles...yes, it runs so good i'll drive it to you...you can also pick up or i can ship it as long as you pay for it. I can arrange shipping.
Its an Ae86 chassis, (yes the same as Initial D Takumis' trueno gt apex.) but with the SOHC carburated engine (still not ae85). Its a perfect drif machine, there are tons of engine swaps/mods available and Yes, its really easy to slide with!
Its a 5sp manual transmission, the master clutch cylinder has a minute leak, but its a leak nonetheless. The clutch still has a long life, it grips really hard, no slipping.
Here's the pic gallery before i worked on it

PICS available upon request. I'm sure you'll like to see all the fiberglassin and rust removing work i've done
Stuff it needs:
-A/C works but needs freon. This prob means there's a slight leak in the front coil. Solution: buy a $6 can of freon with sealant and conditioner.
-A slight tunning job (mix, float and idle needles)
-Muffler rusted off, actually, the whole exhaust, after the cat is pretty rusted, but its still complete (no chunks missing). Its still street legal but and its kinda loud.
Work i've done to it:
-Lights work, all blinkers work and blink, all internal lights work. It has a radio and some speakers i put in. Headlights popup and popdown evenly (last owner replaced motors) headlights work and has highbeams too.
-Power steering works, but its just a bit harder than the TL's power steering.
-First off, i did a full tuneup from spark plugs, to oil, to fresh tranny oil, to fuel pump, some vacuum lines, cleaned carburator, replaced EGR valve (junkyard find), you name it. exep timing belt and water pump (my mech skills not this advanced yet)
-Then, i REMOVED MOST RUST, with a dremel thingy and also with sand paper. Then i covered with rostoleum and repainted. This is only to places with slight surface rush. AND in the places with little chunks missing, i removed rust i FIRERGLASSED very skillfully, sanded down, wet sanded, rustoleum and repaint. I also REMADE 50% of the place where the spare wheel goes, and its perfectly smooth and flush with the rest of the plce.
-Replaced lots parts in the interior that were either broken or ugly (got parts in junkyard along with EGR valve and fuel pump ~ $35). THE SEATS in very nice shape.
-Also removed all the tints and that ugly sticker in the back, and will retint before i sell...free of charge
New stuff it came with:
New alternator, Radiator and battery.
If you want more info, Pics or have questions, pm e-mail or call me @ Luisriera@aol.com, (561) 4770081. I'm asking anywere near $900obo. I'll list this on ebay in two days unless someone wants it. Paperwork will be discussed with buyer.
Again, i can arrange shipping and it can cost ~ $1100 to ship to california from here (south.FL). Questions or PICS available, just let me know.
*edit, all that rust you see on the rear hatch and side fender are fixed/fiberglassed/wetsanded and painted!

Hmm, wow. Send some pictures my way. TransAm2002c@aol.com
Is the car running fine, though? No serious problems?
Lately I've been thinking about a cheap, cheap project car, and this has a lot of potential. But yeah, please send some pictures.

.
.
if memory serves me right, they only used in the Corolla Levin.
the 20 valve engine is amazing, but it was expensive when the car was new, they put around the same price with the WRX in Asia. too expensive for a 1.6L car so there weren't a lot of them, just like the CL with a low demand

nah man...i've been looking around to do this myself. I know 2 or 3 places (2web) where you get the JDM 20v engine, ECU, uncut wire harness, engine mounts, transmission for about $800. And the JDM 16v one that comes in the Trueno gt apex for about 600 with all of this. (+ shippin ~ 100bux)
or you can get the USDM 20v which is a bit and you can get this very cheap from a junkyard. they work fine and have a good 140hp...calculate $300 for everything you need. There are also other swaps like the 2.0L 4AFE, 4AF and 13b which are easy swaps. Most 87-low 90s corolla has the 20V engine...junkyards are filled with these.
Its not that expensive considering it will boost the car's value to like $4000-$5000.
Anyhows, the car is still for sale, it runs, it looks good, every light/blinker works. there's lots of more pics available, just leave you're email. If you can COME AND SEE IT YOURSELF.
