What Kind of Lens is This?

i'm going to sell this lens on ebay for my manager, but i'm not sure what kind it is.

it says Sigma Zoom 100-300mm 1:4.5-6.7 DL on the lens.

here are some pictures:

all i know is that it was used for his old canon eos camera...

so being the novice i am, is this lens for dslr's or 35mm slr's? and is it a zoom type lens?

i'm assuming it's an old lens because i can't seem to find specs or a profile on the sigma website.

and how much would you say this would sell for these day?

thanks.

There are plenty of specs for it online. Google-> sigma 100-300mm 4.5-6.7

They seem to sell for about $70 used.

interesting that it uses a white dot, cause for EF-S mount lenses they use a white dot, for EF its a red one.

if the same applies to sigma then this will probably be an EF-S mount lens and will only work with a APS-C sensored camera.

All Sigma lenses have a white dot, even if they are designed for full frame bodies. The Sigma lenses that are designed for cropped bodies still line up with the dot for an EF lens, not the EF-S pyramid.

A digital only lens from Sigma would have the words "DC" after the name.

"DG" and "DL" refer to coatings and are still full frame.

What lens is this who laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping
