How did you feel safety wise in Mexico?

The news has toned down a lot of the reports of violence, but I wonder what your impressions were? Did you leave the resort at all? Go into town?

Thanks guys!! And sAfety wise. No problems at all Xel-ha is about 120km away from cancun itself plus we were on a
Tour bus. Cancun takes a lot of caution to protect their tourist. Police everywhere, federal police here and there. Police check
Points when leaving cancun. They don't want bad press, tourism is the liveliness of this area. No drug lord problems here haha. Been going here every other year for 10 years no problem.

Oh FYI this is barely spring and In cancun it's 85 high with 75 low at night lol. Put it feels like 100 with the humidity.
