Other than using their tools or juploadr there isn't much to be done but enjoy a beverage of your choice.

10mb a picture isn't bad...my RAW files from my D80 are right around 10mb, usually like 9.1mb though...

but yeah, it's your DSL...i have no problems uploading to flickr, but i'm not trying to post 10 meg pics either...but still, DSL (in my experience) tends to slow down over a period of time and if you're passing file sizes like that X 50, you're done...either resize them or get cable internet at the minimum...

and i use flickr's upload app (not their actual website) to post my pics...

It is your connection. I use Flickr Uploadr, I used it 3 times in the last few days. Twice had almost 100MB upload with no problem and pretty fast. You're going to have to do it in batches.

Suite. If she downloads it all, does that mean it will no longer be available on TV?

I was uploading photos yesterday through the website and it was going smoothly. I ended up canceling after about 40 images (~5 MB each). 10 MB jpgs are HUGE.

I'm not saying that is huge for a TIF of any other file format. However, for a JPEG, it is HUGE.

Probably not doing anything wrong, just using the highest possible setting on a 12? mega-pixel camera

Just for the heck of it, and since you have plenty of free time on your hands, try taking several pictures of the same thing at different camera resolutions and see how they compare. Maybe shooting at 8 MP might be more than "good enough" for most of your shots.

So it's 10 MP. That still seems a little high since full resolution jpgs from the 30D (8MP) at the highest quality (eported from RAW in Lightroom) are all under 7 MB.

yea that's why I asked what range are they at... part deux..

do you take a lot of night shots? night shots at auto on a P&S = certain high ISO = certain high file size...

I guess at this point we're all just trying to figure out how you're getting 10MB files out of a SD900.

If you're getting good shots at high rez, I'd keep shooting that way. That way you have the biggest files to play with. You may want to look at keeping the largest files on an external drive and then put 3mb files on line so your family can d/l them if they want.

The shots are good and since Flickr lets you choose which size, its fine for them.
