Gitzo or Manfrotto? Which name brand do you trust the most and why?

I've had two Manfrotto tripods. The current one, 190CXPRO4, is the best photo accessory I've bought.

I couldn't find a more compact, durable and lightweight tripod that gave me just the right height when fully extended.

Can't go wrong with either one, it's the ballhead that makes the difference. And that's a WHOLE other can o worms. I suggest Really Right Stuff.


For tripods, add Induro to the list of what to look at.
