not a fan of the new canons that done have a view finder. I konw they are small cameras and you dont use it a lot but I dont care how good the lcd is, when it is bright out it is extremely useful.

I havn't used the viewfinder in 4+ years of shooting in all types of conditions. I get what your saying but chances are slim that you'll need it.

Because your shooting with an SLR.

I think camera NooB's like myself and whiskers here are more inclined to frame a shot with a P&S using the LCD. IMO using the viewfinder on such a small camera is a PITA.

I've never once used it.

I've only used the view finder on my P&S when the batteries are low. I'll turn off the lcd to get as many more shots as I can before it dies. It's pretty handy in that situation.

How old is your son, now? You should take him to the Tate Modern with your wife and see if he can ride one of the lower slides. You'll need two people with him, so one can take him to the top and the other can wait at the bottom. Not sure if he's big/old enough, though.

And I'm with those that rarely use the viewfinder on my P&S.

Are you in NJ now? If so, I hope wasn't anything bad/sad that brought you back.
