dude, why not get a cell phone with a great cam in it?

there are severl 3.2Mega pixel phones that take amazing shots. there are even some 5MP shooters coming out in the next month or so.

Money isn't an issue for whiskers.

But Warren CC makes a good point, thats a great camera. If your into an even bigger LCD screen go with the SD630. I'd suggest one with IS (image stabilization) So a SD700IS or SD800IS. Either way, Canon or

My current camera is 5MP, I would want something that takes better pics then that.

This is an ELPH-sized camera with a whopping 10x optical zoom that not only captures 7.1 megapixel images,
Its ELPH sized which means SD900 sized. But I get your point. The SD900 is a great camera but I'd recommend the SD800IS for the well, IS. A tad more Zoom as well. You really can't go wrong with any of the 6MP+ SD's. If MP are your thing then get the 900.

I have found, that over the course of the last 10 years or so of buying digital point and shoots. Canon makes the best.

I've had 2 Ricoh's, 2 Sonys, a Fuji and now a Canon 710IS.

Take a look at these two links. I love steves and I like to see what others say about items I'm looking so amazon.com is good for that.

Warren, its about the size of a credit card only much thicker. It definantly a good idea to see it before buying but this will be small enough. There are smaller cameras, but you'll be sacrificing image quality. Is it worth it?

I have an SD300 (older model) and it easily fits into a shirt pocket.

all the SDX00s are tiny. I have the SD500 and it's very comfortable in a pocket.

Thanks....I want a good balance...I plan to see more of London (museums and such) and really don't feel like carrying too much....Also, I want it to be rugged since I will stick it in a coat pocket....The SD900 seems like a good one.....Ill check it out next week in the US.

the only problem I've had carrying mine in my pocket is that the finish is easily scratched. You might want to get some kind of small sleeve or case for it. Mine is so scratched up I don't bother with a case, but that doesn't hamper it's picture taking abilities.

Warren the TX1 I mentioned earlier is nearly identical in size to the SD900. and it takes High Def Video! Not to mention the 10X optical Zoom vs 3x on the SD900.

3.59x2.35x1.14 - SD900
3.5x2.36x1.14 - TX1

The SD900 has a solid titanium body. So it's going to be able to take some wear, just have to worry about LCD.
