I am just starting to get into photography, and wanted to upgrade to a DSLR. Would this package be ideal for me? I am really considering it because of the low price. I would rather have the body black, but that is not that big of an issue with me.

great price.

What do the newer models have above this one? Other than more mega pixels of course.

Also, I see that the lens it comes with isn't the lens that almost all other XT kits comes with. Would that be a big factor in deciding?

Looks to good to be true.

The 20-80mm is not the XT nor the XTi kit lens, also they usually don't come with CF cards and card readers, and all the maintance kit stuff and tripods... espically for under $450.00.

Everyone out there that's legit is usually right around B&H's prices.

The price is too good to be true. Before you order, check the reseller ratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/selle...seller_id=1805

Buy from a real shop like Adorama or B&H. They still have stock of the XT with the 18-55 kit lens for about $649.

Wishful thinking. With the XTi out, will the XT prices drop?

The XTi has been out since August, so I don't anticipate any major price drops on new XT's anytime soon. The inventory levels at most stores are getting pretty low already. If you want to spend less, consider a used body. There are plenty for sale in the Buy & Sell forum at www.fredmiranda.com.

Do a google search on expresscameras.com+bad. Then see if you want to deal with them.

Butterfly has it for 609 but they have a bad rep for trying to upsell...

you can get it at buydig for 629 with great service and fast shipping...

I'm still debating...
