Printing instructions...

So I have only printed at walgreens and rarely print things in general. When I have though my pictures have suffered clipping, which makes me upset because I lose some of the picture. Are there certain instructions on printing and the guy at the local camera shop said to print at Sam's because they have the newest machines...think I shouldnt?

Find out what color profile the printer is expecting. More often than not most of the machines used by the box stores will expect the image to be in the sRGB profile. Convert your image to the profile in PS as the last step before you save the final file you'll be printing: Edit -> convert to profile.

If you're already doing this, then I would guess that either The 'green has garbage equipment or (more likely) the people running it don't know what they're doing or just don't care.

By clipping, do you mean cropping? If so, it's because of the aspect ratio of the photos versus what usual print sizes are, e.g. 4x6, 8x10, etc. You can fix this by cropping to whichever size you want in Photoshop or some other editor (those programs give you the option of cropping to a specific size). That way they'll come out just like you want.

Otherwise, when they print to 8x10, and you didn't crop to that size, part of the image will be lost because the aspect ratios are different.
