Thanks! I'll definitely be back to shoot there again. The inside is pretty creepy looking.

Some great shots in this thread.

Viscious - that spider shot is awesome. I was trying to get a similar shot at night but couldn't pull it off.

srika - nice shot of the model. Any more in the series? I'd like to see her a little off center.

LKLD - Great shot of the egret

Tommy - looks like a fun day

Luv - Why couldn't every day be like that?

waTSX - How'd you set the horizon on fire like that?

Benny - nice start. keep shooting.

Dan/wndrlst - screw you two and your tallents.

Thanks! It's on Warden, just north of Ravenshoe Rd, in East Gwillimbury. There are a few places in the area that have some leaves up, but they're a little past their prime right now.

I peeked around inside a little, but I didn't go in because the floors are in rough shape. There are a few cool things in there though that I'll shoot the next time I'm there.

I dig the house shot, Dan. Whatever you did in post really adds to the effect.

The maple leaf image looks great too. Great contrast between the bright colors and dark background.

Lol. You'll have to thank a higher power than me for that one. This was the first time I shot a sunrise, and it was cool getting there early and watching the horizon slowly turn from muted pastel colors to fire orange in the span of about 15 minutes. Minimal PS tweaks on that shot, BTW. Tripod-mounted 40D + 70-200 shot RAW.

Thanks for the props. And I agree about the other shots in this thread. Some great stuff has been going up lately.

Now, that is a hell of a shot.

One small suggestion. Clean up the power lines in the bottom right. Add to that isolated feel.

Dan, can I ask how you toned the abandoned house image? It looks much nicer than than a regular HSL colorize adjustment layer. Was it a split tone or perhaps the application of a specific blend mode?

Good question. I generally dislike toning, but this is great.

It's a split tone with slightly different browns for the highlights and shadows. I don't have my lightroom catalog handy at the moment to tell you exactly what the settings were, but I'll look it up when I have it next week.

Just like to add some of mine. Took these at 5:00am.

The landscape shots were just beyond my Camera and skill level. But it truly was a breath taking view. Looking at the photos in here makes me really want a SLR DSLR.

^ Nice photos, I especially like the 1st one. Living in Fla. we don't get any of the season changes like most everyone else. We do have Sycamore trees though and they lose their leaves here. So, here is the only fall shot I got....my backyard tree.
