Yep, going to Nitro, Mission, and PM, I'd know a thing or 2 about Chicago clubs
Although I have been to Vision and Excaliber, that was back when I had a fake. Being a fan of Electronic, I guess I'm going to have to wait the last 1.5 years out . That place looks really cool.

while this thread has been bumped... I might as well post a few shots :P
this is one of the best club shots I've ever taken...
a few more:
theres lots of color bleeding on this one but I think it gives the whole thing a "dreamy" kind of look that I rarely get.
btw I rarely ever crop anymore.. none of these are cropped. It saves so much work to just get it framed right the first time. I usually use the head(s) as reference points for center-framing. Of course there is no set rule for that.

Was at Bleu (Detroit) this past Friday for their DEMF event - Gabriel & Dresden. I tried going for a different style of shots. Wanted to capture more emotion, fun, and candid shots. I made a big "collage" of my favorites, have a look. It's rather large so I'm linking it.

Big Block go VROOOM!
Srika, have you ever considered putting some colored gels over your flash or on the diffuser/reflector? With all the colored lights in the clubs, I bet you could get some really cool stuff if the light from your flash had a contrasting color cast to the background club lights.

Oh and, there was like zero lighting at this club - notice most (if not all) of the club shots have a black background. All they had was strobes. Kinda sucked, I love pics with pretty background colors. But at the same time, the blackness give these pics a look I don't get at other clubs.

hmm.. im still not sure what i want to do with photography. what i mean is if i want to make a job out of it, or keep it as only a hobby.
is that all you do or is that a weekend job?
but first things first, i need to get better at taking photos

if you want to see some of the first pictures check this link:
http://www.delobbo.com/gallery2/v/?g2_page=3
these were taken with SD550.
right now im just having fun with it, not working as much - doing it more for myself, when I want. i got kinda burnt out doing it 2-3 times a week for 9 months in a row. Its not the actual picture-taking that burnt me out - thats the easy part. its the PP. Im gonna do it on a more selective basis now. Doing something you love to do is fun until it feels like work. Unfortunately I got to that point. Lately Ive been going out without my cam. Its a lot of fun but honestly I was kinda addicted to shooting. So I feel kinda naked without the cam. And, I am constantly seeing shots, its like all I see - and when I do I wish I had my cam with me. That feeling kinda sucks. But, its getting better.

John Digweed @ Vision.. finally made a new watermark.. wanted something more visible and legible, but still a bit subtle.
