Oy, 300d Hacking gone bad.

When I first had my camera I loaded up the wasia hack the seccond I got a tripod, mlu being the cause. A couple months ago I went back to the canon firmware because I was having problems with memory cards over 1gb, (this didn't really help). I kept that firmware till today.

I was taking some picture for a friend's ebay auction and I decided that FEC was something I long missed. So I charged up my best battery and downloaded the latest version I could find of the wasia hack. It loaded up just fine, but when I started the camera the SENSOR started making a buzzing noise! So I depressed the shutter button and it locks up when it gets to the writing point. The menues and everything up untill the shutter bit are working fine though, So I decided to re load the canon firmware.

Now when the firmware update program runs the camera just goes into a blank screen. I can let it sit there all it wants and it doesn't write anything. I do beleive I bricked my 300d.

Though I kinda would like a new camera and have the money for a 400d (or mabee I should be looking at 20d if I really want fec), I was saving it for that tamron wide angle f2.8 zoom. The low light performace of the 300d was servicable (iso 400 kodak slide film vs iso 400 rebel is quite a difference). And 6.3 megapixles seemed quite enough. I doubt i'll ever print anything than a sheet of letter paper. Poor little camera.

A. Does anybody know what a ballpark figure for fixing what.. may be wrong (hell for all I know it blew up the sensor).

B. It's 2 amI think i'll go take use the photomode in pgr3 and cry now.
