No hood, no UV Filter.

Front cap and rear cap in a small pelican case shipped to a completely jumbled address a day late.

Ask me if I would use them again or recommend them. Go ahead.

Just put the rental 17-55 in the mail back to LensProToGo.

I need to pour over the images I took to see how it worked out. Been a bit too busy to even look at them on anything other than the LCD on the camera...

Next rental - 24-105 IS...

So I have been thinking about lenses lately and wanted to get the opinion of the C&P people in here.

Right now I have the Sigma 18-50 2.8 EX Macro which is currently in NY getting calibrated. I think once I get it back, as long as it's calibrated correctly, I'm might sell it. I have a 50mm 1.8 for low light stuff.

Should I...

1. Sell the Sigma, pick up a Canon 17-40 f4L?
2. Keep the Sigma, pick up a 24-105 f4L IS?

The colors and sharpness seem to be better on the 17-40 f4L vs. the sigma. That's the only reason I am thinking of replacing the sigma with the 17-40L

If it's a better lens, that's the reason to sell. After purchasing and trying to resell a Sigma lens last year, I don't think I'll every buy one again. It was too damn hard to sell. I know you don't buy lenses just to sell but, after seeing what happened. I won't do it again. OEM is just about the only way to go, though I keep it open to by a Tokina 11-16mm.

I'm not impressed with Sigma's service and I hope like hell this lens comes back dialed so I do not have to send it back again. Supposedly it is now with the technician, but when I talked to them the day before, nobody had a clue where the lens was.

FWIW, I had the 17-40 and sold it to help fund the 17-55. In your case, i might consider keeping the Sigma and adding the 24-105.

I'm pulling the trigger on the 24-105L. Just awaiting paypal info from the person. It's WAY too good of a deal to pass up!

Sweet - it's my main walkaround, and I've been very happy with it. If only it were 2.8 it'd be perfect!

OK, just locked in a 24-105 for thanksgiving week as a rental.

After this, I should be able to make a damn decision on which to buy.

The 24-70 was great, but the backward zoom was REALLY annoying. 17-55 was great.

this is all bad, because im thinking i like the reach from 70mm to 105mm. sounds good for a walk around type lens.

hey everyone,

im looking for an ultra wide-angle and currently my options are tokina 11-16 or canon 10-22usm ... slightly leaning more toward the tokina as it's slightly cheaper for what seems to be reviewed as a mediocre-good lens

what you guys think? any other possible options?

Which camera body you using?

The 17-40 is a great lens, but with a cropped body, it starts you at 28mm.

ok Im looking for some input, I need something to do some landscape shooting when I take my vacation next month. Right now I have a nifty fifty, and two kit lens' an 18-55 and a 28-80.

I'm kinda looking on a tight budget with christmas right around the corner and the need to pick up a decent tripod as well, but at the same time I dont want to buy something that I will regret later.

Will the fifty give me what I need for now? Its probably the only time Im going to have to get up to NH this winter and I have a few places in mind that I want to shoot, I just dont want to end up disappointed in the results.

What do you think?

I wouldn't use a 50mm for landscape work. I use my 18-50 for landscapes but a few mm less of the low end would be even better.

Jefford, I was thinking of the 10-22 actually. I just wanted to get some input first.

I've seen them on POTN in the $500-600 range but I just wanted to get some input.

If you're going to be doing landscape shots on a tripod, the 18-55 kit lens would be a good opition if you're tight on money. The 10-22 is a good lens, I would add the Tokina 11-16mm to the list of what to look at for long term.

I was thinking about that, then thinking that for two weeks its going to cost me $100 with shipping. The 10-22 is stretching the number I had in mind just a little, but Im also thinking that if I bought one lightly used and it isnt what I want I could turn around and resell it for almost no loss.

the 10-20 question was after stumbling across the thread of their pictures on potn and liking what I saw, just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it
