I guess the trick is to buy a 5D2 with two 200mm f/2's, sell the 200's to recover the savings and get a free 5D2!

Anyone have insight on the next chance I have to get a new Canon 17-55 at a discount? When do the lenses usually go on "rebate"?

i dont think it will go on "sale" for a while because the spring lens rebates already happened. so i think you'd have to wait until fall.

im actually glad i jumped in on mine when i got it. cause the current price of it is SOO much more expensive. its like a difference of $250 bux.

Samys Camera is running a great promotion right now.

No Tax on certain items (including ALL Canon bodies)

Free Canon Pro9000 (after rebates) with purchase of Canon Body. $499 retail price.

If I wasnt waiting for Nikon to get off their fucking ass and announce the new bodies, I might have jumped on a 7D.

sooo i've been thinkin about getting a DSLR again(i sold my old d60 when i was strapped for cash ) but im hesitant because it wouldn't be the smartest financial move on my part.

anyone know of any good deals on entry level Nikon or Canons? i was looking at getting the new Nikon D5000 or maybe looking on craigslist for a used D60/D80/D90). any help would be appreciated. thanks!

I dont know of any deals, but if money is a consideration, I would definitely go used. Hell, I already know that whenever I upgrade, it will be used. Bodies depreciate so much that you can buy one less than a year old for significantly less money
