NY considering permits for certain public photography

They are, of course, are claiming that the proposal wouldn't impact tourists and amateur photographers. How much do you want to bet the people that drafted this are clueless as to what's involved in even semi-serious amateur photography.

This is like the department of homeland security picking up my cousin because he was taking pictures of airplanes taking off at Westchester county airport. Im not going to turn this into a R&P thread, but he shouldn't have to go to court because he likes Airplanes.

Your cousin has to go to court over that? I don't know about anyone else here, but I'd certainly like to hear the full story if you're willing to share. Was your cousin cooperative when they questioned him or did he put up a fight? If he put up resistance, then that's likely the reason he ended up with a court date.
