Let me know asap. I'm ready to buy it as I speak.

DON'T DO IT!!! GET THE D80!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

lol

Just kiddin. The 40D will be a good camera definitely, and it is that nice in between of the D80 and D300 that Nikon doesn't have. I'm just a little biased.

Hence my user name.

I bought my 40D from Amazon. Great purchase experience, online so no sales tax was a bonus.

Does Ritz/Wolf charge tax if they have a store in your state?

With the kit lens, the Slingshot 200 is a good starter bag. Also, pick up the 50mm f1.8 for $75. Great value lens, with good image quality, and it's a lot faster than the kit lens for your indoor no flash stuff.

^^^ I went to a local Ritz store other day and they were asking $1300 for the 40D. I asked if they do price match and they told me they do, but not online stores.

I believe there is sales tax.

I'm just going to get it online because like what you said, no sales tax through online stores, and also much cheaper compare it to Ritz and Wolf local stores.

I think I'm just going to order tomorrow night or sunday night, For REAL!

Pixel hasn't giving me the catalog so I'm just going to order online, no biggy.

Thanks for your advice.... for 50mm f1.8, I just searched on amazon and B&H, they were selling at $89. Do you mind telling me where you got 50mm f1.8 for $75?

Thanks, bro.

Is B&H better or Amazon?

B&H is selling 40d with 28-135 for $1129.95
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/shop/6...l_Cameras.html
and
Amazon is selling exact same setup for $1128.88
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-40D-Digi...3857016&sr=8-2

I think Amazon just lowed their price to match B&H's price.
Amazing.... Now, Amazon is selling it at $1106.36. within 4 days, they dropped roughly $22.

I WILL order it tomorrow....

^Just keep in my mind, if you are in Washington, Amazon will charge sales tax for online purchases.

I guess the price of the nifty fifty went a few bucks. Take a look at Dougler's pic of the green leaf with water inthe favorite photos thread for a sample of what the little budget lens can do. Even at $89, still a bargain.

Also, after you purchase, keep an eye on the price for 30 days. If it drops again within 30 days, Amazon will refund you the difference.

From Amazon site:

"Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax."

I'm just going to order it today and have them ship it to my parents' house.

Thanks so much for your help.

I did.

It will be ship it to my parents house, which is in cali.

I didn't feel like paying $120 tax. I will be going down to cali next week so I will make sure to post some pictures of my camera, and pictures with the 40d.

Thanks!

Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack (Black)
Canon EOS 40D 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens
SanDisk SDCFX3-4096-901 4 GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card (Bulk Package)

All that for $1234.70

That's it for now... I probably get a screen protection and 50mm f1.8 within few weeks.

About damn time. Sheesh!!

Where are you now? I hate waiting for things, but $120 is a good chunk of change to save.

Congrats!!!

It gets me even more hyped up when I think about ordering my camera later this summer. I'm most likely going to get a D300, but man....

....if the rumor about that D700 is true

It'll be hard not to get that

Good idea on sending the camera elsewhere though to save on tax.
Tax on my computer I recently bought was $169.00

lol
