nikon d3000
This deal will expire soon, but thought I'd post this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...7a4c8560ace042
Its for a 16 GB class 10 SD card, for $19.99. If you get the D3100, or any of the cameras that will shoot HD video, get a class 10. You will need the faster cards to write that large HD file. I hadn't yet received my class 10 cards when I got my D7000, and put in my old card which I THINK were class 6, and the camera wouldn't even start the recording.

I'll definitely have to agree here. The feeling of the camera bodies is totally different when you jump up to the D90 or above. The base models are still very capable cameras however. I loved the D60 when I only had that, and did very well with it. It had its limitations, and I just felt like it was time to upgrade the body to something new. I had a few lenses that would not autofocus on the D60, plus the bigger sensor, MUCH faster focusing, video, it all helped me make up my mind. I haven't used the D3100 to make a direct comparison to the D7000, but will say I love my camera. Also, if you are looking to just get into a DSLR and are not a Nikon fan yet, I think you will be better served then going with a Canon. The menu is much easier to learn, more intuitive, as well as having a info button that will tell you what just about any feature on the camera is. This is great for beginners. It helped me.
im not sure about that bc i dont have alot of youtube experience. I converted my file before i put it on photobucket because i didnt want to try it without converting and find out that there was no sound so i did it just to be sure it would work
it should. Just because you didn't hear the sound i, that didn't mean the sound information wasn't there. Your PC just didn't have the proper coded to process that information. Once you upload to YouTube and people stream it, they should have absolutely no issues, unless they have issues with YouTube as a whole. Hopes this answers your question.
Hey Guys Look at this... Tell me what you think and If I should offer him less maybe 450-500 Since it is Craigslist and everyone usually lowers their price

the easiest way to tell if it is really brand new is to find out the Shutter Actuations or shutter count. take a laptop and an sd card with you when you go to see the camera. take a picture and upload it to this site http://www.myshuttercount.com/ and it will give you shutter count info. if you arent in an area with internet access . install this program (its free) and open the pic in it and it will give you the shutter count. once you upload the pic scroll to the bottom of the info they give you and it will say total number of shutter releases and thats the number of pics the camera has take. if the count is low (less than 50) it is prob brand new and the seller just took a few random shots with it. if it is under 10,000 the camera is still in like new condition from a shutter standpoint. that number doesnt mean the lens is brand new.
also check for scratches on the lens and body. another way to tell if its brand new is if there is still plastic on the screen and on parts of the lens. then again the seller could have removed all of that. also check the camera strap. if its worn then it was prob used alot.

from what i understand only nikon service techs can reset the shutter count or if the firmware was upgraded that can cause it to reset. realistically unless the seller is a nikon service tech or is just really good with programming and wanted to take the time to reset it then i doubt it was reset. but you never know
I went to Target today and seen this camera and I was in Love with it. Imma see if I call this dude next week!

keep in mind that if the person shot in live view mode the count will be higher. the camera doesn't record actual shutter count but how many times the mirror has be raised and lowered. every time the person hits live view there goes another hit to the counter.
Also another important test to do. Take a picture of some thing completely white or even at a blue sky, set your aperture to F22 or higher...... this will let you exam how much dust in on the sensor.

FML these test are a lil harder than I thought. I have no clue how to change the aperture
. What should I offer the guy? Would 450 be a good place to start and go up? hes asking 540 for the camera supposedly brand new in the box.

edit: thought you were talking about the 3000
the 3100 is only $634 brand new from Newegg.com
and you have the piece of mind that its in brand new condition.
