Nikon 18-105mm VR

Does anyone have this?

I have a D40x

I just picked up a 55-200mm non-VR lens to compliment my kit lens (18-55mm non-VR) but quickly realized its a PITA to swap lenses all the time.

The 18-200mm VR is a little out of my price range so I've been looking at the 18-105mm VR.

Any input from you guys/girls?

You mean it wont autofocus. It should fit. Remember, your lenses need to be AF-S.

Yeah it won't fit I have the D60 and our only option is the 18-200. Keep checking bhphoto and such for deals especially with the holidays not too far around the corner

Why won't it fit? The D40 takes AF-S DX lenses, which is what the 18-105 is. 67mm is just the filter size for the front of the lens, it has nothing to do with the lens mount. "Lens attachment size" is for lens hoods and other accessories that mount to the front of the lens.

I feel like an Idiot now too.. Dan is right in this instance, as he most always is :o) had I realized the 67mm was only the filter size I might have saved a few bones and picked this one up instead. oh well
