Damnit! I thought this would be easy enough but I can't seem to figure out how to create a "mask" in PSE 6 to "protect" the colored portion of my image. I have a picture of a Flamingo and thought it would be great if I could only colorize the flamingo. The video link above was very easy but it's pretty difficult to "paint" the entire portion I want since since it has many feathers and when you get down the the legs it makes it even harder.

Anyone know a simple method of creating a masks in PSE? I created a duplicate and was going to combine the Grayscale image with the colored original but seem to be stuck at trying to create mask....

Can't wait to see them! I went out today and took some random shots with my daughter. I'm finding myself not leaving the house without my camera these days. Here is my "attempt" at a similar shot you previously posted..

Hmmm, none of them really caught my eye.

I posted them here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/hin-night-shift-chicago-il-8-23-2008-a-683679/

Maybe you guys can pick a couple that have some potential after some PSing.

Thanks!

The "symmetry" of this one isn't bad... everything seems centered

I def want/need to edit them in PS but I don't really know how yet... plus it takes me forever! Feel free to play around with them.

my tutorial is this:

try working a little more with saturation and contrast to make them "pop" a bit more.

also I love a touch of the shadow/highlight tool in CS2, if you have it, its a lot of fun to use.

YOURS:

WITH ADDED SATURATION AND CONTRAST:

I went just a touch overboard with it just so you can see the difference.

just my ... like i said before its really just the style i like my pics to look
