Need a P&S Camera, budget ~220

Hey guys, my grad night and graduation is coming up and I need a camera. I never owned one before, so I have no clue on what to look for (except Mega Pixels). So can you guys recommend me a nice portable point and shoot camera for around $200 please. If there is a huge jump in quality for a couple bucks more than I can save up a little more! Thanks!

Canon A570IS you can get for about $215 from amazon.com, go to the link below and read the user reviews.

I was about to pick up a D40... but after I played with the SD800IS, A570IS, and the Kodak Z712IS in BB... The D40 was very nice but my lack of skill and my shaky hand didn't cut it. The Canon and the Kodak were really not bad. I was trying out the cameras without the flash inside BB (which was kind of dark) They all took great indoor sharp pictures (with good color) without the flash.

I am sold with these 3. Maybe I will buy a SD and get the Z for the zoom. Or just get the A570. The A570 is really small and light (lighter than the SD800IS).

I was going to pick up a Canon but not after I saw this with the so-called "dust spot" problem:

They said it was the SD800is among some others tiny models from other brands. Basically, they said the lens was too small and the flash was too close to the lens making the lens to pick up the reflection from the dusts.

Hmmm... w-h-a-t-e-v-e-r!!!

My P&S is an Olympus 720SW... should run you about $200 now. 7.1 megapixels, video, sleek looking... it's shockproof and waterproof (and yes, I've dropped it and took it underwater).

It's nice to have a camera where you don't have to worry about "accidents". As far as picture quality goes, it's decent. Under low light conditions without flash, the pictures end up blurry. Or if you have a shaky hand, but that's fixed with the "sport mode" or the "shaky hand" mode.

Here are some sample pictures that were taken with my camera.

Macro mode:

had that issue back with my S110 and have with my SD400

its not a common thing, usually occurs in an area that is dusty.

my friend got a Samsung from Walmart for $99. The samsung seems a pretty good camera. It uses 2xAA and SD memory.
