I wonder if a problem exists between the computer and the chair...

mmmm, same price as lightroom 1.0 I think.
Side note: I've discovered a weird feature request I want.
I want the ability to make a 1024x768 crop.
Unlike photoshop, you can't move the crop window at 1:1 resolution, which means it's impossible
to size the window precisely. Not to mention the 'current crop window' doesn't update in realtime.
Ah well, maybe they'll slide that in sometime.
You're probably wondering, 'why do you want this?' It's because the max resolution on my
web page is 1024x768, and I am cropping for 'free zoom'. So I want a 1024x768 crop, without
needing to resize and lose resolution.

Anyone know if you can upgrade an academic copy to the full version for $99? It says you have to have a licenced version, but doesn't really clarify beyond that, so it should work, right?
I found this on the adobe forums (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b56765/3 )
There is no such thing as a 'Student Version' of LR only Student Rate licensing of the exact same software. Go, download the 1.4.1 version.
In, AFAIK, all cases of Adobe software, at least, it is Academic Rate Licensing, not some special student version of their Applications.

Okay, the multi monitor support is a bit limited.
You can only select 'Grid', 'loupe', 'compare', 'survey' or 'slideshow'.
Maybe a bug - if you select grid on your second monitor, then select grid on your primary,
it pops the second monitor into 'loupe'. That's fine, except when you change the main
monitor back to loupe, the second monitor doesn't change back to grid.
My main monitor is the good monitor, and what I'd prefer is to drag all tools to the second
monitor so I can do a full screen loupe on the good monitor.
There's a pretty easy workaround though - make the good monitor the secondary monitor.

OMG, you can select multiple pictures and do 'add 1 hour to the capture time of each picture'.
That is incredibly awesome. I've been having problems since I'm syncing up 3 cameras, and two of the people forgot to change their clocks after changing time zones!
So far, LR2 is pretty good.
I already hit the 'out of memory' bug that forces you to restart LR, but that's not a huge deal.
It's very nice to have some sharpening after you do 'export' to jpeg.
I hit another slightly annoying bug. When you crop, the dimensions don't change after you let go of the mouse on the main screen. BUT, it does change on the secondary monitor, which works for me.
The localized editing I need some practice with. It worked very nicely though for lightening someone's face which was in shadow since they had a hat on.
Does anyone know if there is a way to export the sorted list of files?
I want to feed a 'capture time ordered' list into another program.

Havent had time to play with it.

The symptom is you get an upside down 'Out of memory' when you view a
1:1 preview.
Here's the scenario for 1 hour thing:
Since I'm usually screwing around and taking multiple pictures of everything, my workflow is to
take all pictures of _____, pick the best one(s), delete & archive them, then move on to next thing.
With multiple cameras, this is still easy - just sort by capture time.
I went to yellowstone and hung out with some girls from California who forgot to change the clocks on their cameras.
So now their clock is one hour behind mine. So now if you sort by time, my 2 pm shots are mixed up
somewhere with their "1 pm" shots, and so it's this annoying blend of pictures. I basically have to look
at their picture's EXIF time, and scroll forward 1 hour to find my matching pictures.
Anyway, Lightroom (including V1 actually) allows a Metadata -> Edit Capture time.
So now I can select all the girl's pictures, and modify the EXIF capture time and add the missing hour,
and all the pictures are syncronized. Great!
This is a big deal for me, since my albums are generally a story and I want my pictures in chronological
order. I have a file.list file that specifies the order I want pictures in. (Which is why I am looking
for a way to export that).
LR allows you to modify EXIF capture time by any amount, including seconds. So actually, the best thing
to do is have everyone do a 'sync shot' and take a picture at the same time. That way, if Camera 1 is
say, 15 minutes ahead of Camera 2, you can still sync up the pictures.
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but the EXIF in the exported JPEG didn't change.
So on my web site, if you look at the EXIF info, it still kinda looks like the pictures are out of order.

Can I
or not?One annoying thing about having to swap primary and secondary monitors is
that my secondary monitor is normally portrait. LR is very annoying on a portrait monitor, although having the secondary helps a lot. It would be very useful if you could select a tool, and then use it on the secondary monitor.
Something else that would help a lot, which also still isn't allowed, is to run
lightroom in a window or something, so you can widen it. I know it runs faster when it's full screen, but it's nice to have some flexability when you need it.
