I use Black Rapid a lot of times. Especially when using two bodies. I also use DSPTCH.

So people have huge expectations for the size of your camera but are really disappointed when they see it?

I've heard good things about Black Rapid. Is it really as functional to have the screw mount at the bottom vs the side mount? I almost always prefer to carry the camera at my side and this would be perfect for that. Another option I'm looking at is Peak Design, they have some really cool sh1t for camera gear.

No, I just thought it was funny. Using a Canon strap with a Sony camera

That and I didn't care for the Sony strap.

I was trying to make a funny.

I agree though, the Sony strap is janky AF.

When BR, the straps are off my neck and camera bodies are next to my hands. I like BR because it's a simple screw into the tripod mount. No other connections.

BR straps are great. They help out so much with balancing out the weight of the camera. I have serious back problems and these helps out tremendously.

I have the Black rapid RS5 model that you can store stuff in. Although I rarely use it for storage. Also the cellphone holder is too small, seems like it was designed pre-smartphones. My iPhone 4 & 5 couldn't fit in it, 6 Plus definitely not.

I'm actually looking to upgrade to the sport model.

Funny enough I was introduced to Black Rapid by a photographer I met 6 years ago that works for Playboy Plus.

Sold, I'll order up the strap soon.

Have any of you guys tried the Peak Design Capture? Looks like an awesome mod for hiking and travel.

Interesting design. Kind of similar to the cotton carrier belt holster.

Our local commercial photographer guru was in my office doing new head shots for all of our agents and staff. I noticed he was using a mirrorless so I took a closer look and asked him about it. He's using Sony s6300's now for basically everything. He's migrated from Nikon FF to mirrorless over the last year and said he has no ragrets. Loves the lighter more compact gear and image quality that is at least on par with his old stuff. The way the thing focused had me drooling. And the fact that he's using an APS-C makes me feel like why would I need a FF? The 10-18mm I would need to be in business is only $748!

the number of "rules" Sony has allowed photographers to break over the past few years is noteworthy.

Yea you could go that route if you'd like.

Only difference I would think is the low light isn't as good as full frame and possibly the DR.

With shooting Fuji for the last three years. I don't care about FF anymore. And the focus peaking is wonderful. Though it will take me awhile to give up on Nikon for wildlife.

Don't have a problem with DR on the Fuji. I've damn near stop shooting brackets. 95% of the time, I can take one single image and pull three to four stops out of it with no problems in post.

That's why I said "possibly". Just depends on the body.

Same here with my Fuji as well, even though i still have my canon gear. Its been collecting dust since then. I just recently sold my 5D3 because i didn't use it as much as i would have liked. Plus i got what i paid for it which is always great.

DR isn't as big of a difference as you think it would be. Low light, the full frame will kill it.

Here's the DPReview of the a6300, you can toss the A7II or A7RII in for a comparison. The next page has DR comparisons.

What Fuji do you have? Are you using adapted lenses or native?

Yup, it's amazing how much improvement there has been with mirrorless lately. I did a 5EV push in LR from a Sony RAW file and it looked normal. Nikon is already using Sony sensors, Canon had better step it up soon.

I currently use two XT-1's and a X100t. I have also had the XE-1 and the XE-2. The XE-1 has been converted for IR. The DR range I get from them are just a slight step below what I get with my D800e.

Nikon is using sensors built by Sony Semiconductors or Toshiba. And they are being built to the way Nikon wants them built. They aren't Sony sensors just in a Nikon body. That company built the sensors for Fuji as well, as again the way Fuji engineered and designed them.

Anyone know of a good place to snag cheap Canon FD or other good manual focus lenses other than craigslist or fleabay? Want to try my hand at those along with an adapter on the Sony.

Recommendations for which ones to get would be appreciated too! I've heard good things about old Minoltas and others but I don't know much other than the Canon stuff...

^ Thanks man. I'm looking for a Canon FD 135 f/2 but they have shot up in price since people figured out how awesome they are on mirrorless. Now they go for $300-$400 easy if not more and at that point, one might as well just save up a bit more and grab the EF 135 f/2L and get the AF with it. Oh well...maybe I'll get lucky and come across one for cheap.
