Just started Flickr account
I am nowhere near the talent that many of you guys here are, but thought I would start a Flickr account, as everyone says it is the better choice over Photobucket, which I currently use. Do a lot of you use it? I was wondering if it compresses files as Photobucket does.
If you would like to look at what I have uploaded so far, you can take a look:

Would appreciate any thoughts and/or constructive criticism.

yeah I think quite a few people on here use it.
I mostly use it as an image host, don't do a lot with the 'community'
I'm not sure how it handles images with all the different sizes it offers, but it does allow you to download the 'original', which I assume is the same as it was uploaded.

It doesn't mess things up with compression as much, but sometimes the color/exposure is modified in strange ways. You'll have to upload and see how they look.
There are photos that looks great in LR for me that look underexposed or appear to use a made up colorspace in flickr. For 90% of the shots though, it looks good (IMO).

You have a lot of great shots posted - don't knock yourself! Photography is mostly about what you like and how you interpret what you see.
I use Flickr a little bit for uploading photos but it's not my main site for online storage (I use smugmug). However, Flickr has a great community where you can share ideas and advice. Start by perusing the various groups and joining the ones you like. Most people on these groups are very helpful. Just be careful, as you'll get more and more into photography, often resulting in buying more equipment!

For posting individual pictures to sites like Acurazine, I use Photobucket. When I'm more interested in sharing a "set" of pictures to people, I use Flickr because they are easier to group together and show.

Thanks guys. I'm not knocking myself so much as stating my opinion on how good I think some of the guys here really are. I am still learning manual settings, and still have to learn how and when to use particular settings. I do have fun with HDR's, but have recently been processing in the Nikon software that came with the camera. Its amazing how much you can enhance a picture with just that software alone. I am hoping to get into Lightroom soon. I have been thinking about getting a Mac and want to wait and see how that pans out before buying LR.
Also, thanks for the comment about the Firetruck. It is one of my favorites. It was at a job that I was installing a system at. The guy had a big property and was holding on to it for the town until they started a full restoration on it. I grabbed a few pics, processed it in Photomatix, then meticulously painted the background in Photoshop to grey it out. I couldn't have been any happier with the result.
