Hanging Canvases

We recently received 5 canvases from a family photoshoot after our 2nd daughter was born a couple months ago and now the wifey wants them up asap.

I would like to have the canvas hang flush on the wall; however, the back of each canvas is flat (no recess) with a ever so slightly protruding piece to serve as the support for the canvas as shown in the picture below. What is the best way to hang this on the wall, keeping the canvas flush while still keeping it supported enough so it doesn't fall off the wall? I know a lot of people do this, but a simple nail in the wall doesn't sound like the best option, but I could be wrong. We paid a lot of money for these canvases and I want to ensure they do not get damaged.

You could also pur bumpers on the corners or edge on the canvas from the to sit on the wall better.

Oohh, didn't think about bumpers, that's a great idea.

I've seen those hangers you talk about, and those would be the ideal way to hang up these canvases. Now I just gotta see how thick those hangers are compared to the bumpers. With a little bit of bending on the hangers, i think it may just work.

Just checked my collection of hardware and I already had these:

Professional Picture Hanger [Set of 12] Size: 20 lbs - Amazon.com Professional Picture Hanger [Set of 12] Size: 20 lbs - Amazon.com

Now I just have to figure out how thick those bumpers are or find another set that are thick enough to provide the clearance I need or just double them up.

Thanks Jup!
