Funeral pics

My uncle passed away and the family asked me to take pictures during the funeral and burial. At first I was taken a back because I didn't recall seeing photographers at funerals in the past. They wanted the family over seas to see the service/burial. Here are a few shots. I refrained from posting the more emotional shots (as if these weren't already.) It's one of those times where I never thought to take pictures. It was difficult at times not knowing what was appropriate so I leaned on the conservative side, not going out of my way to "get that shot". I just shot where I stood. Let me know what you think.

RIP

RIP. Sorry to hear about your uncle ...

"handing of the flag" picture seems like a great shot to me ... it seems to carry an emotional narrative behind it that draws my attention right away

awesome composition despite the fact that it was, without a doubt, a difficult time

My condolences... My faves are pics #4 and the "Handing of the Flag".

Same thing at my grandmothers funeral. Relatives were taking pics and even posing/mourning. I was like WTF?

I went to a memorial service this last friday for a dear friend also....sorry for your loss. Can't say that I have ever seen a photographer at a funeral, but if the family wanted it, then it's ok I guess. Military funerals really give you the chills....very moving.

I agree^^^..

1st Sorry for your loss.

I think you did an excellent job, even shooting where you stood as you said.

Wow, some really nice pictures and a very respectful treatment of a difficult environment.

Well done.
