I like the feel of the first shot, but with the lighting there is no depth for the 3 guys in the back. I think the front man (assume that's who he actually is) looks good and has some great depth. If he was the only one in the shot I'd really like it.

I feel the second photo should be straightened it looks like they are falling off the tank. The harsh sunlight is flattening the image too. Also the objects on the left are distracting. The guy on the bottom right needs a 'tougher' stance. I do like the idea of being on the tank though.

Last pic looks flat.

I think the set ups are good, but a little more dramatic lighting is really needed to make these pop. Defiantly a good starting place.

thanks for the suggestions

in the first image,i wanted the guys in the back to be less noticed

i wanted to straighten the one of the tank but was worried about cutting the barrel of the tank off in the process, but i think i am gonna clone out those deals on the left of the pic...

i didnt have much choice on the lighting for the tank pics, since we were lucky enough that i was able to pull some strings with the marines 1st tank btn...they actually pulled the tank out of the bay,and moved it into the only open space in the tank yard...it was about 2PM so the sun was still high in the sky.

eddie:the guy in the bottom right was the most difficult with the posing,he just had this same look for all the pics it seemed, the other guys seemed more comfortable behind the cam.
thanks again!

Back left guy's shirt neck line is even with horizon, so it looks wonky like his head is coming out of the horizon.

The lighting on this one is the best of all of them IMO. It compliments instead of just existing.

i broke the shoe on my PW flex at the end of this shoot i was letting my light stand down and i accidently let it drop down too fast and the 430exii mounted on the pwflex snapped the plastic shoe right off the stand...so now i have to get it repaired or buy a second one i wish PW was smart enough to put a metal shoe like canon did with their newer flashes.

its a pretty common issue with the pocket wizards, i think more so on their newer ones.

I can't really add much more to the C&C than what's already been mentioned.

One thing I will add, is perhaps it's time to invest in some air cushioned light stands. I know if I ever take the plunge into off camera flash, I'm definitely spending the extra bucks to prevent just the sort of thing db described.
