The end of Flickr...

Just got an email saying for my free account I will be limited to 1000 photos.

Never mind I have 1TB of space and am using 2.2% of it (4500 photos), they are depriving the free accounts of any value and limiting free users to 1000 photos.

From Flickr:

If you are a free member with more than 1,000 photos or videos, you will have ample time to upgrade to Pro (for 30% off your first year) or download your photos and videos.*

*Free members with more than 1,000 photos or videos uploaded to Flickr will no longer be able to upload new content after Tuesday, January 8, 2019 unless they upgrade to Pro. After February 5, 2019, free accounts that contain over 1,000 photos or videos will have content deleted -- starting from oldest to newest date uploaded -- to meet the new limit. Members may always choose to download content over the limit at any time prior to these dates.

Lame!

So what's a different service to use for image hosting? I like Google Photos a lot but they don't allow cross linking, only storage for later download.

I'm surprised Google doesn't have a 'premium' option for Photos that could crush Flickr and others.

Yeah. Saw this and was slightly...igged. Why was it free all this time then all of the sudden you have to pay for it. Some management must have switched hands.

I have to decide to stay with flickr or move to 500px
they are both about the same price, just a couple of dollars per year difference,

Do you really need to host photos like that? If you're doing it for back up why not dropbox, google drive, or some other form of cloud hosting?
