DuPont State Forest, NC
We went to Asheville this weekend to check out the general vibe. We were scouting it as a potential place to relocate. That was a bust - not interested, but we did venture out on a small hike Sunday.
I have no ND filters, so we just went before the sun was up.

As the sun came up the mist rose off the river, partially masking the reflections. There was dense vegetation along the banks, so it was difficult to capture well. I wished I had waders.

As the mist cleared, the reflections took over...

Pure reflection..some of the clearest I've seen.

See..you're really not a chicken!
It was a handful of degrees warmer, but not much. I was tempted! I still had a lot of hiking to do, though. Did you post the shot (I'm behind)? And thanks!

Thank you, El Pesado. It's a 7D. The first 2 were using a 24-105 f/4L. The others were using the 50 f/1.2L.

Beautiful pictures. My girlfriend was out in Ashville a few weekends ago. She said it was beautiful and would willingly go back again.

I don't like bringing up old threads but we were in asheville this weekend. I don't have a desire to go back again either. I could not get my bearings on direction AT ALL. I'm very good with direction, but that area drove me nuts.
The mountains and colors were great thought and the people were nice.
