Depth of Field

I came across this recently and thought I would see if anyone tried/uses this. I love the thought of using this in macro w/ larger items.

Nice find.

I don't have much of a use for it but the few times I did have to piece together an image for focusing, I used photoshop.

Nice to know if I ever have another batch to do, there's automation out there.

I've been using this freeware utility and it has worked great so far: http://www.hadleyweb.pwp.blueyonder..../combinezm.htm

I was contemplating taking a picture of this long ledge extending from the base of the Sears Tower going straight back, one block (its the one between Wacker and Franklin on the north, for Chicago peeps - I really love that height-changing ledge). And I thought it would be cool to get like, a lot of it in focus using stacking. My question is, is there any way to do this handheld or is it pretty much a tripod-only exercise... I would think the latter almost obviously but wondering if there is any way to do it handheld?

My brother uses Helicon Focus in his work (he's a pro doing primarily catalog/product shots). It does a really nice job. Srika, you pretty much have to go tripod.

Or........... you could just use a smaller aperture like 8-22. Unless its a point and shoot then nvm.
