Well I haven't had a chance to go out and really use it yet. Going to walk around outside later and try to take some pics and see what happens.

Thanks. Here is one I took with my old camera. It would have been a cool shot if it wasn't for the damn break in the wall from the closet door.

Couple more from my work parking lot. These were all taken at iso 500 and above.

LOL, yes it is. The first picture was hard to get because it was moving from the wind. I didnt want to go to high with the iso.

I am still learning though so I hope the pictures will get better and more clear. The first two came out kind of blurry.

Instead of starting a new thread I will just add to this one More pics from the 40D. I need to get better at picking the right F stop. I think that would make my pictures look much better.

Great pics. I'm thinking of getting a 40D myself.

Don't mean to threadjack here, but it's the right audience so I guess I'll ask:
I'm confused about difference between EF-S vs. EF lenses. I understand that with EF lenses, you multiply the focal lengths by 1.6x to get the full frame equivalence. Now say I have an EF-S lens. Do I do the same? e.g. 17-55mm is actually 27.2mm-88mm equivalent? I thought that with EF-S lenses, 17-55mm is actually 17-55mm, but I've been reading about EF-S lenses and I see mention of multiplying by 1.6x again to get the true focal lengths.

Someone help please, I'm confused.

I think the confusing part is you can't use an EF-S lens on a full-frame 135 format body, but the same "multiply by 1.6" rule of thumb still applies. Canon lists the true focal length on every lens it sells (even on P&S bodies), but you need to know how big the sensor is to calculate the effective field of view.

A 17-55 is a standard zoom on a 40D whereas it would be an ultrawide zoom on a full-frame body.

Ah, got it. Well at least they're consist in what they list on the lens.

Thanks. I need to figure out how to post process my pics. All my pictures in this post except for the last one came right from camera, well except for resizing. I need to learn that PS is my friend.
