Cheap 4gb 150x compact flash cards

Just thought I would share a great deal I found. I was looking to purchase some new cards in the process of getting ready to attend sema this year and found this on newegg. I normally only buy sandisk and lexar cards but I have read several good reviews on these cards and the deal is just to good to pass up. They are 4gb at 150x write speed for only $70.99 with a $15 mail in rebate.

Ridata 4gb 150x CF Card

I am picking up 2 of them so I can shoot at SEMA in RAW mode with my D200. They come with a lifetime warranty so even if they eventually die on me I can just get another one so I cant see a reason not to get 8gb of memory for only $110 + shipping after the mail in rebate.

Dan, when you had your rebel did you ever have any luck using a 4gb drive?
I have tried a 4gb cf format hard drive and havn't had any luck. I would imagine Flash would work though.

Never tried a card that big in my Rebel, but it should work. Have you tried formatting it in Windows?

yes, but i beleive the real problem is that it was a hitachi microdrive, rather than flash itself.

Oh, I didn't catch that the first time. The microdrives are known for being very slow in a 300D or 10D. Actually, they're just generally slow, but in particular, those two models are the slowest for some reason.

Although they're slow, there are quite a few people using them in 300D's. Try a FAT32 format in Windows if your camera is having trouble recognizing it.

I would assume so but if I was just starting out I would buy two 2gb cards instead cause I prefer to have two cards rather than just one that way you dont always have to empty your card from shooting something right away.

Just ordered the 2gb 150x ridata cf card.

The prices hiked up in the past two weeks though. I paid 48 bucks for it.

RiDATA PRO-2 4GB is $69.99, why is the standard Pro $10.00 higher?

Maybe it's because PRO-2 speed is only 80x and the PRO is 150x? I hope that is correct because I just ordered two 2 Gig PRO.
